The king suite was awesome! So quiet, comfortable, the layout was really cool. The sleeping quarters is centered between the bathroom and living room with a comfy couch, automatic blinds and curtains. It was pretty luxe. Great walking location to restaurants and just a couple the blocks off the Mile. Would definitely stay here again.

We rented one of the suites for a weekend vacay. It is a massive room for the price, and full of nice features like a huge soaking tub, rain sky shower, automatic blinds, and nice views of other skyscrapers. If you are a bit of a voyeur and want to see into other people's lives inside giant sized windows, these suites are great. For this price you will not find a bigger room on the Magnificent Mile. Where you pay for it is that the rooms are a little older, some stuff is banged up, loose floorboards a little bit, but it was sparkling clean and they refilled everything every day. Definitely recommend this hotel if you want to Ball on a Budget. There was a couple next-door having an insane alcohol fueled fight when we arrived night one, but that isn't really the hotels fault, it was kind of fun to listen to, and we drowned it out with our passionate love making.

It is not easy to find an affordable hotel near the Magnificent Mile that also offers comfortable AND trendy rooms. I will admit, I splurged on a King Suite for the night simply because of the bathroom. The soaking tub and walk-in shower made the expense worth every single penny. The sitting room was great for the few friends that came to change from our trip to the beach as we enjoyed a glass of champagne from the mini-bar, which was surprisingly affordable, before we headed out to enjoy the nightlight of Chicago without even leaving the block in which the hotel is located. The bed was so comfortable, and while I didn't partake in any of the food offered by room service, I did order the carafe of coffee that was brought to my room quickly and was hot and delicious. This was honestly more than I expected, and I will be making this hotel my home away from home when I'm visiting friends in Chicago.

My girlfriend and I stayed for the weekend for a concert. We got up to the room and soon noticed some strange stains on the wall. On closer inspection it was clearly dried BLOOD in both the bedroom and living area. We immediately went to the front desk to complain. They sent up a security guard who agreed it was blood we were seeing. They moved us to another, blood-stain free room on one of the higher “premium” floors (the room was almost exactly identical to the standard rooms). This room also had some cleanliness issues- we found toe nail clippings on the floor by the couch. At the end of the day the only thing we got for our troubles was a breakfast voucher.

Whenever I fly to the Midwest to visit my family, I always plan to treat myself by spending a few extra days in Chicago and stay at the Ivy Hotel. The reason I always choose the Ivy Hotel is because of the warm and welcoming Midwestern hospitality, the friendly staff, the luxurious accommodations, and how central the hotel is to Michigan Ave, the Magnificent Mile, and the best shopping, dining, and nightlife in all of Chicago!

In advance of my trip, I communicated to the Hotel staff my red eye flight from the West Coast would land around 6:00 a.m. Not being able to sleep the entire flight, when I finally landed in Chicago I immediately called an Uber to take me straight to the Ivy Hotel. I so looked forward to taking a hot bubble bath with Epsom salts and then cozy up in the warm plush King size bed, take time to decompress, and sleep. Checking into the Hotel was an easy process…being welcomed by a genuinely friendly and accommodating staff. As soon as I opened my hotel room door entering the King suite on the 14th floor, I was treated to a wonderful fruit plate and a handwritten card warmly welcoming me to the Ivy Hotel. The message indicated, "If I needed any recommendations of places to visit, feel free to ask any of the wonderful staff members"... WOW – what unbeatable 5 star service!!!

I enjoyed the delicious fruit and then ran a warm bath with calming lavender Epsom salts. After enjoying a long, and relaxing soak, I reached for the cozy white robe and slippers and made my way to the King size bed -Ahhh I finally made it to Chicago! After resting up, it was time to explore the town and to go Christmas shopping. After a long day exploring the town, I looked forward returning to the Ivy Hotel to relax and recall all the sights, sounds, and memories of the day and City.

On the last day of my stay, after more exploring and walking the city enjoying the Holiday spirit, I rounded off my brief but memorable stay in the city by lounging in my comfortable robe and bed watching Christmas movies. What a relaxing evening! On my last morning I treated myself to room service and enjoyed a tasteful breakfast. I was in complete bliss enjoying my last few hours before check out.

The Ivy Hotel is exactly what I needed before continuing on with my vacation – starting off feeling the utmost warmth and hospitality from a genuine friendly staff. Thank you Ivy Hotel – I so look forward to my next visit. I will be back soon... I promise you!

Overall ok, but there was no sheet on bed, we found a piece of cookie on floor under coffee table, only one complete towel set for two people. The phones didn’t work so to communicate I had to go to the lobby each time. We asked the next a.m. to fix the bedding and towels and asked for a second bar of soap so we didn’t have to switch it between the shower and the sink to wash hands. They did not deliver anything but the towels. The bar and rooftop were also closed early both nights. No signs letting us know the roof was closed either.

Stayed here for a week whilst visiting for the marathon.

Loved the large sized rooms, separate living and sleeping area with very comfortable beds. Large, well eqippwd bathroom.woth separate shower and small kitchenette. No microwave.

There is a TV in both sections of the room and one jn the bathroom mirror however they have limited channels and you cannot stream onto them as they are older Tvs. No view as looking into hotel/apartments acorss the road and the rooms are dark as no matural daylight gets into them. Not an issue though. Rooms are quiet, each floor has 5 rooms only sp very little noise from other guests.

Our room was cleaned to a reasonable standard every day and toiletries restocked where required. The hotel has little facilities therefore we had little interaction with staff. Again not an issue but larger hotels started breakfast early for marathon runners but The Ivy did not offer this. No gym and rooftop bar was closed. Never any wait for the lifts which was great.

As we were there for a week I really appreciated the room size and it never felt claustrophobic. Recommend.

This hotel is one of the classiest hotels you can stay at in downtown Chicago, especially for the price, the rooms are absolutely beautiful, TV screens built into the bathroom mirrors, giant tubs, huge waterfall style shower with a a gorgeous marble slab floor. There is a living room area separated from your bed area and a very nice wet bar stocked with all the goodies. Highly recommend. The ivy is the best!

This hotel was really nice at one time but our recent makes me never want to return. The elevators and room REEKED of weed. The bed linens were soiled with a stain that looked like bodily fluids which indicates they are not cleaning and sanitizing ALL bed linens between guests. When requesting fresh linens, there was no apology...I was told by the guy at the front that there was nothing he could do- housekeeping wouldn't be in until the next morning. He is an awful service rep and should not be customer facing. The floors in the room were sticky and gross. The bathroom was not cleaned properly. The pillow covers on the sofa were ripped. I will never return here until a complete and total overhaul is done. I will be taking my hard earned money elsewhere.

Dear Olivia0424, Thank you for your recent review. I am so sorry to hear about your stay. Since legalization of marijuana in Illinois guests seem to think they can vape it anywhere. We do fine guests $250 for any of these occurrence and have signs posted. I do apologize that you thought the bed linens were not clean and the room was not. We use an outside laundry provider that has one of the highest sanitation standards in the city. A majority of the 4 star hotels use this provider. Furthermore we rank very high for cleanness and housekeeping on this site. We have coached and council the team member you interacted with at the Front Desk. Onye our front office supervisor will be retraining the team member. She receives a lot of great reviews on this site as you have read. I would like to personally invite you back to stay with us so that you can see that these items are not a normal occurrences. We are the same Ivy that you have grown to love over the years. Please tell me when you would like to come back. Kindest regards, Robert Humphrey Regional Director of Operations

I give it a 3 because me and my wife travel from Michigan to stay at the ivy Hotel for our 20th anniversary. Once we get there the young man who checked us in gave us a lot of problem. I wanted to put my incidental fees on one card and the room fees on another card. He told us we can't do that I knew that have enough the card for 517.68. If he would have let me use both cards like I ask everything would have been ok. I told him I work for a hotel chain and we do this all the time so we can be done. He basically told me Leave the hotel if you can't pay for the room with one card. I told him that it was me and my wife 20th anniversary and we just travel 200 miles now you telling leave the hotel because your not allowed to use both cards. So I had to pay for one night the staye because my wife and I are very tired and at that time we lost all our discount for booking in advance. But the next morning the young man who was working the front desk I explained to him and he agreed with me 100%. He said that he could have put the room I on one card and the incidental fees one card, but he also said the young man who checked us in the night before didn't want to. So you fix everything for me. The guy who checked us in before the night before was very rude the young gentleman that night as it was very nice. Can you guys are very lucky to have someone like him working on your front line to greet the customer Wednesday arrived from a long trip. We arrive Feb 28, 2020 at 6:45
