We have been members for a long time and try to get to Chicago as often as possible. We always stay here. This club feels like we are coming home. The guest rooms are nicely appointed and very comfortable. The public areas are all stunning. We have particularly enjoyed the Presidents Bar for eating, Visiting, and of course, a cocktail....

We stayed at the University Club for a family reunion weekend. It felt like we were entering Hogwarts. The guest rooms were large and comfortable and the staff was courteous and welcoming. The Saturday night dinner was held in the 8th floor Library, which is gorgeous, and held the 60 of us comfortably. This is a membership club, not a...

We have stayed at the University Club on numerous occasions as members. We had our daughters wedding ceremony and reception in the magnificent Cathedral Hall this past January. The comments from friends and family couldn't be more positive; wonderful staff, service, food, ambiance, music and fun. Many of our family members and friends stayed in the guest rooms. All were...

The hotel has been kept up very nice. Beautiful wood throughout. Since it is old the rooms are either hot or cold. Most in our group were sweating but not us there was a definite gail in our bathroom. This hotel is for members and their friends. This makes it not so friendly to visitors. The staff tries to make...

My wife and I stayed here one night last weekend while attending a wedding. The hotel is in a great location; just at the corner of Monroe and Michigan Avenue, a block or so from Millennium Park. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is really beautiful inside, and definitely has a lot of history. The only complaint I...

Our room was large and pleasant, however it was noisy with our phone also ringing whenever next door got a call and poor sound insulation through an adjoining door, we didn't enjoy listening to their TV at 6.00 am! The weekends see the Club being taken over by large pre booked groups and the virtual cessation of normal facilities to...

They apparently have several rooms for functions. We had a large cocktail party. Our group of 150 was handled well. Efficient service...good bar service, and adequate h'ordures. Overall a nice experience

When I am traveling for business this place is on my short list. Nicely appointed and recently refurbished rooms and great location make it a great choice. The super workout facilities put it ahead of many. I hate to miss my workout and am often underwhelmed by hotel gyms, but the sports facilities are a top priority here. My only...

Real elegant club, traditional and old-fashioned style but with a modern twist. Nice and professional people. Beautiful lobby, expansive bar and great pool and work out facilities. Best place in Chicago for playing and learning squash.

We stayed in the Court Yard room and it was absolutely deplorable. I am even more shocked to read that these rooms have been renovated. We complained when we checked out a day early and our complaint was "noted". Our heat did not work, the water temperature in the shower was faulty, the sheets were stinky and old, and it...
