Loews Chicago Hotel is celebrated for its exceptional service, though a few guests have encountered minor hiccups. The rooms are generally praised for their cleanliness, comfort, and modern amenities, with many offering stunning views. Its prime location garners appreciation for its proximity to attractions and transport links. The atmosphere is welcoming, marked by an inviting lobby and uniquely styled rooms, but some guests noted the lack of spa facilities. While cleanliness is consistently lauded, opinions on value suggest that the hotel's pricing, including parking and fees, might overshadow its benefits for some visitors.

My son & I stayed here when we visited to attend a Blackhawks game. We loved it! The hotel is clean. Every staff member was very kind. The beds were comfy, the room was clean. It was such a great visit. The bar was a great time after we returned from the game. They recommended a great spot to eat. We will return soon!

For anyone worried about traveling and hotel protocols during the coronavirus, I would recommend staying at Loews Downtown Chicago. Masks were required upon entry and there were arrows directing pedestrian entry/exits. Every floor had sanitizer right by the elevator and the rooms were spotless (including remotes that were wrapped in plastic bags!) To keep everyone safe, they did not conduct housekeeping services inside the rooms but everyday I had no problem getting extra towels and the trash was emptied multiple times a day. My daughter and I went to the pool every morning and we were usually the only people there. The pool and fitness center were open but would close every 1.5 hrs to clean.
In general I found Chicagoans to be very mindful of wearing masks in public and outside and there are plenty of great takeout/delivery options.
We regularly visit Chicago and Loews is always my number 1 choice. I’m so happy they are open right now and if you are looking for a safe getaway from your home I would recommend staying here!

We stayed at Loews Chicago through Amex's FHR program. The program gave us $100 of food/beverage credit and $30 per person of breakfast credit, both of which we used at the hotel's restaurant, ETA. So essentially, we got $160 off our stay and was able to enjoy two very delicious and filling meals. As to the room, we were upgraded from the Superior room to the Premium room. It was bright and spacious, and we loved the fresh and modern look of the hotel. The hotel lobby was also beautiful and had a lot of seating for doing work or meeting up with someone. The location of the hotel was convenient, but also off on a quieter street which made it feel more private and less busy. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely come back.

Your website offered a dining and parking package, which I purchased because I am disabled. I thought that meant that there were dining options onsite, and valet would be available. Here’s the thing, I know we are dealing with a pandemic, but other facilities have dining options like room service or take out, to keep people socially distanced. Since the package was available, I assumed you had an option onsite. Your website did not say anything about the services not being available. As a matter of fact, I had to click through two links just to find a generic statement saying that SOME services may not be available. I had to limp my way to and from the garage 6 times. I informed guest services at check in that I was disabled, and my handicap placard is clearly visible on my vehicle. If I would have known that I would not be able to get a meal onsite, and that I would have to hike it to the garage and back, I would not have chosen Loews. As a five star hotel, I expect more, that’s what we pay for. Additionally, the room was available for far less on Priceline, and I chose to pay more due to the package you offered on your site. It was also supposed to include an upgrade in accommodations, and all I asked was a view of the lake, which I was told wasn’t available. So I got a standard room on a higher floor, which makes no difference to me. Not one of the package perks were available to me. I struggled during my stay, to get in and out to get what I needed, so I ended up having one meal the entire time I was there, and stayed in the rest of the time, and I’m now struggling at home due to the amount of walking I had to do while I was there. Definitely not what I expected.

The room was spacious and clean. Grace, our 6th floor housekeeper, made sure we had all the water and coffee we wanted, and encouraged us to take anything we needed from her housekeeping cart. Hair products and bath soaps lasted 4 days without withering down to nothing. Great bed and pillows. Everything in the room worked properly. Concierge Gwen was so warm, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic that she made us feel like family. Loews is perfectly located and even this 65 year old was able to walk to Navy Pier, Michigan Ave, Riverwalk, etc. Kind of wish we had upgraded to take advantage of the views that others mentioned, but this was not a deal breaker. Definitely would stay here again.

My husband and I booked this trip as a staycation, and it was quickly ruined by the cleanliness and customer service skills of the staff at the Loews. I’m a health care worker, and we are first time parents who were looking for a quick getaway. Rest and relaxation was NOT waiting for us at the Loews Chicago. My husband and I checked into our room and quickly left to go to dinner. Upon our return, we pulled back our sheets only to find DRIED BLOOD on our sheets. There was no way that this could have been ours, we had not been in the bed once since checking into the hotel. How can you be open and advertising your increased cleaning standards during a global pandemic and not bother to change the sheets?

When we called the front desk to notify them of the issue the front desk attendant did not show any empathy to our situation and demonstrated a total lack of customer service etiquette. A hotel that boats a 5 star rating did not deliver 5 star customer service. The attendant generally seemed skeptical of our situation, as if we were lying or making it up in order to get a rebate or to avoid paying for our stay. My husband and I travel frequently, and have never ran into an issue this alarming that would lead us to leave a review on a site.

Ultimately, we made the decision to leave the hotel at 1 AM, and drive home rather than staying at a hotel that we cannot trust to apply basic cleanliness standards during a global pandemic.

Bottom line, if you are looking for a clean hotel that you can trust during a pandemic, this is not it.

The best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The location is top-notch and in walking distance to the Navy pier, Maggie Daley park, and the Millennium Park. So much to see and do walking the streets around the hotel. The concierge was so helpful secured us a taxi van to take us to the Lincoln Park zoo. It only cost $13 there and $11 to get back to Navy pier. So much to do at Navy pier and I highly recommended wheel and Seadog boat tour. A short walk back to the hotel from Navy pier. Giordano‘s deep dish pizza it’s just down the street and is amazing. There is a Microwave near the ice machine across room 22 on each floor to reheat all of your leftovers that you will surely bring back to the hotel. The staff are all amazing at the hotel and so helpful. The ETA restaurant has the best steak and egg breakfast I’ve ever had. Another restaurant is Cupitol Down the street which has amazing coffees- highly recommend stuffed French toast breakfast. The hotel is so thoughtful including putting water and disposable earbuds outside the fitness center which is top notch, the toiletries in the bathroom are amazing. The bedding and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable with amazing views from 12 th floor. My children loved the iPad and PlayStation that we loaned from the front desk. I highly recommend this hotel for families

Great Location for the River area and Navy Pier. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and had a great view. The room is laid out nicely, e.g., the sliding bathroom door is a real space saver. The Fitness Center is well appointed. The only gripe I have is that a refrigerator and microwave costs $25 Each/night, meaning an extra $50/night. So for our 5 night stay this would have costs and extra $250 which would buy a small frig and 2 small microwaves. I stayed at the Drake Hotel and they only charged a One-Time fee of $30 for the frig and No Charge for microwave. I complained to someone at the Front Desk and he waived the fee but told me in the future to be aware this was the fee that would be imposed next time. Overall great place but this charge is Absurd.

I booked this hotel through Priceline’s “no peak” style booking section for a 5 star hotel selection. After booking and 2 days prior to our stay, I called the hotel to see if they had any upgrade options, and we ended up booking a suite for an additional charge. I worked with AJ in reservations and I wanted to give a major shout out to him. AJ not only assisted with our upgrade at a very respectable price, but also sent a Charcuterie board with a bottle of wine to our room via room service upon our arrival. The room service also included a personalized message from AJ, saying he hoped we enjoyed our stay “back in Chicago” as we used to be residents of the city. Thanks so much AJ and the Loews Chicago team for an excellent stay and unparalleled attention to detail. This hotel is top notch 5+ stars!

After doing quite a bit of research, we decided to opt for Loews and were not disappointed. It is handily situated mid way between Navy Pier and the attractions of the Loop and we found we could walk everywhere easily. It's set back from many of the busier roads and is therefore a quiet setting - sleep quality is good also thanks to a comfy bed and high quality bed linens. Compared to some of the Loop hotels the room was spacious and comfortable. There's a decent sized bathroom we a super abundance of towels. The prices compared favorably to other hotels in the immediate area and offer great value.

We ate at the restaurant downstairs one evening and were happy with our choices that had a very healthy component. Portion size was substantial. There's a decent sized well kitted-out gym. The swimming pool was disappointingly not open during our stay due to maintenance. I would recommend for both business and leisure.
