Hotel's Favourite
I stayed at this hotel over the Dr. King Jr. weekend. My bestie was in from England, and we wanted to stay close to River North and the Loop.
This hotel is housed in the previous home of the Chicago Motor Club. The lobby was lovely and full of smart details from 80 plus years ago. Excellent location, clean, comfortable, and inviting.
Breakfast each morning was delicious and varied. A bonus for comfort was the always-available warm beverage station in the lobby. While the the bar was closed, we were still comfortable and warm within the cozy lobby area.
I plan to stay here again. Thanks, Hampton Inn!

Greetings SdT9931TV, it's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave over the memorable Dr. King Jr. weekend. Our historic site, previoulsy home to the Chicago Motor Club, is known for its lovely lobby and intelligent designs dating back many decades. We're also glad to know you appreciated the convenience of our location and the comfort we strive to provide. It seems like a highlight of your stay was the diverse breakfast and constant availability of warm beverages in the lobby. Even though our bar was not operational, we're pleased to learn that you were kept comfortable in the welcoming environment of our lobby. Your plans to return bring us joy. Thanks for choosing the Hampton Inn! We eagerly look forward to welcoming you back!

With dozens and dozens of hotels to choose from in Chicago, it comes down to what area of the city you want to be in. We chose this specific Hampton Inn because it was a very convenient location to many of the places we wanted to visit downtown. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check in early as well as leave our bags at the hotel after we checked out so that we didn’t need to haul them around with us all over the city. I consistently choose to stay at Hampton Inn because time after time they have proven to have the best continental/hot breakfast of any hotel chain. This Hampton Inn was no different, with eggs, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, and more bacon than any one human being could eat. Our room was comfortable and I enjoyed being on one of the higher up floors because of the view of the city down below. Overall this was a nice hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

As mentioned in several other reviews, all rooms are generally super small, however you can't beat the location to all sights, attractions, and general entertainment. You can't beat the location for food, and shops as well. You can't beat the price per night for the room and the breakfast was a hit each morning. Uber, was very reasonably priced and they responded very quickly during the various times of the day. I'd like to specifically thank Gus, and VJ @ the ( Front Desk ) for their awesome customer service and thoughtfulness while visiting Chicago! Note: there is significant construction taking place next door so be prepared, but for the price, breakfast, convenience and customer service it was "All" worth it.

I really don't understand how you can get good reviews, in 20 days of traveling around 10 states this was the worst experience in my trip, I'm sure I get better service in a $40 motel. It's really old, they serve the worst breakfast in all Chicago but the big problem was the room, the heat have a big noise and the room extremely small. We call the front desk about the noise in the heat and they didn't care, I have to go down, and went to the room and just chance the speed and said that the solution was to use ear plugs, that was incredible.

My wife and I stayed here three nights to explore one of our favorite cities – Chicago. We loved the history and location of this hotel and that is why we chose it. The only difficulty we had was locating it in downtown Chicago since it is on a small side street. However, once we found it, we loved it!
This historic hotel reflects the Art Deco era of the 1920’s. They recreated the lobby area when it was the former Chicago Motor Club. The large USA map on the wall and all the artwork reflects its ambiance.
Ashley helped us check in. She was super friendly, professional and helpful throughout our entire stay. She advised us that she would put us in a great room with a view which she thought we would like. She was right! We loved the room and the view! The room was very neat, clean and had plenty of storage for our luggage. It also had a very comfortable bed. Our view was looking out on the Chicago Riverwalk and seeing all the bridges. It was a great spot any time of day or night. What a view!
The breakfast area was well supplied with a good supply of healthy breakfast choices. The staff made sure that it was always well supplied. All the tables were socially distanced to keep everyone safe.
Melanie, who was also at the front desk, assisted us with maps to view the nearby sights on both the South and North Loop. She was also very friendly and helpful. The hotel location was perfect for walking and exploring both areas. It was also close to many good restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. We also had interactions with some of the support and cleaning staff and they were all very friendly and accommodating.
We highly recommend this hotel to stay at in Chicago. It is a superb Hilton hotel with superb staff, accommodations, and location. We will be back!

It's located in the old Chicago Motor Club Building just off Wacker Drive near the river. The building has such incredible historic value for those interested in a 1920's era history visit when the age of the automobile was just starting. The mural of historic roadways and parks is incredible. Other than the lobby desk and breakfast area, the ground floor looks much as it did in the 1930's. The hotel's location is fantastic to many dining places, the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, and many other downtown attractions. It's a reasonable walk to the Field Museum, Planetarium and Aquarium as well. The staff was fantastic during the stay. The room was nicely appointed and the bed was clean and comfortable. It's a city downtown view of the neighboring high rises. It can be loud at night or in the early hours with construction, but they do provide ear plugs for those who wish to sleep in.

Absolutely fantastic location, right in the centre of downtown for all the tourist attractions. Made welcome when we arrived, check in very quick and easy, valet parking albeit expensive $69 per night was extremely easy. Small but comfortable room with everything you need, air conditioning was noisy and not greatly positioned. I would recommend a river facing room as we had a rear/side facing room which was quit noisy with street noise and refuse collection.

A three star hotel should offer roomservice on a daily basis. Furthermore I expect that there is a designated room for the complimentary breakfast and that tables are made as well as that real plates are used. Service was not friendly in dealing with regular checkin and was on the phone. No Minibar is unstocked. Price of 840$ for three nights is therefore not viable.

We appreciate your feedback, jkamme864108. We're deeply disappointed to hear about your experience with us. We apologize that you did not receive the high level of service we are so accustomed to giving, and we will bring this information to our management team. We strive to provide our guests with warm hospitality and efficient service, which is why this is so upsetting to hear. We'd love another chance to rectify the visit. The service was very friendly. Ashley checked us in and asked what brought us in to the city. She later remember and asked us how our activity was.
The breakfast was really good, I loved the sausage.
The complementary ear buds gave me the best night sleep I've had in a long while.
The bar drinks were expensive compared to other hotels, next time i would just buy my beer at a store.

This was a nice hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel location is brilliant, literally walking distance to all attractions, the bean, the pier, magnificent mile etc. Breakfast is provided each morning which was basic but good, eggs, bacon, potatos, waffles, yoghurts, bread etc, great to start the day with. The room was comfortable. The only negative is the room cleaning, which is only done on stays of 4 nights or more after the 4th night, while this isn't unreasonable having to go to Reception to ask for toilet paper shouldn't have to happen as it's embarrassing. Overall a lovely hotel, would stay again.
