We stayed here as one of many hotels on a Cosmos 'Dixieland and Rhythm' tour, adding two extra days at the beginning in this the chosen hotel. It's a little tired but the room was large, clean and the beds very comfy. It is ideally placed on South Michigan Avenue, leaving the hotel and turning left takes you eventually to...

Wau! Our visit served as a lesson on cultural differences and I would like to share it with you!! Now afterwards, I am happy we were able to follow the following: I know that american service sector people are not paid well. I suppose it also means that people are working part time or temporarily in various jobs, and hotel...

The hotel is in a really good location, really close to the lake side and all the local attractions were within easy walking distance. We stayed for 2 days and found the staff were very helpful and the room was perfectly adequate and value for money

I stay here every other year for a trade show at McCormick. I love staying here. Staff is amazing, food in LM restaurant next door is phenomenal, and the staff there is amazing too. I give all of them high marks! Yes, the hotel is old but location is good and room was very clean! I will always come back...

I was in town for the recent rugby match and found the location in relation to Museum Campus to be really convenient. The rooms are a worn but are a decent size, although the bathrooms are pretty tiny. It is also one of the few hotels I've stayed in where the windows open which was great. The staff were all...

Fairly typical for a city hotel. The room was a decent enough size for me, comfortable, and afforded me a good nights sleep despite the city noises outside. The staff were friendly especially the lovely lady on reception who helped me get my wi-fi sorted on my smart phone. The bathroom was compact but was clean and had everything I...

This hotel has seen better days. It is dingy and worn upon entering and the rooms are no better. Upon arriving with reservations, made well in advance, we were informed that the only room left with 2 beds would be on the 'smoking' floor. WOW! i was unaware that smoking floors were still available in Illinois, but was informed that...

We stayed at Chicago's Essex Inn from October 25 to October 28, 2014. The hotel is older I guess but I found the lobby and rooms to be updated. The shower seemed a bit old and mildewy, but not bad enough to affect my opinion too much. The location was good. Very close to Museum Campus, further away from the...

The Essex Inn is conveniently located on Michigan Ave, across the street from the park and right on the bus/trolly line. It is an older hotel and could use some "sprucing up". The biggest complaint was the heating in the rooms. You have no control over the temperature, and we nearly roasted Thank goodness we had one small window that...
