We had a great stay! The staff were always kind. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I only wish the restaurant remodel had been completed! We had a room behind the elevator and it wasn’t noisy at all.
I wished the AC got colder, I can’t remember how low it would go.

My girlfriend and I decide to go to the city for the weekend for Valentine's. I remembered my friend talking about this hotel the St Clair so we gave it a try. Upon arriving we have the best service from the young man at the desk who did one of the best jobs you can imagine going that extra step The room was very clean
Very close to everything we needed to do. The staff was very friendly and courteous. And found the first shift as equally as nice as the second shift.
I will definitely use this hotel again and recommended it.
Great job

Spent two nights here with my husband and mother. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. My mother checked in before my husband and myself and when I walked in, the staff remembered that my mother had told them I was arriving and recognized I was my mother's daughter. It was special to walk into a hotel lobby and be greeted so warmly. They had a personal touch that made you feel welcome and known that went above and beyond normal service. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay.

This is my third visit to The St. Clair Hotel - Magnificent Mile, and I'm sure it won't be my last. I first learned of the hotel in2018 and stayed for a quaint staycation with my husband. We then returned two years later for an anniversary stay since we were in the middle of a pandemic and didn't feel comfortable leaving our city.

I just completed my third stay in a solo staycation for an early Mother's Day gift and it was fabulous. I love how close the hotel is to everything that I need to do in order to be okay (food, massages, shopping) but it's also a great centralized location for visiting some of the city's landmarks if I felt up to it.

As a native Chicagoan, I'll save the touristy spots for outside visitors, but being just up the street from the Art Institue, and just west of the lakefront made quick visits possible and easy on the pockets.

The rooms are boutique, meaning they aren't there to make you feel as if you're in a condo, but they have everything you may need in order to be satisfied with an overnight stay.

The rooms were clean and free from issues. If I did have an issue in any visits, they were attended to immediately.

I look forward to visiting more.

I will say, the hotel does the very best it can to make sure that all guests feel safe and secure, however with all things, you can't always control people, including what they indulge in while in their hotel rooms. If anything that has been enjoyed leaves an odor, calling the front desk will handle the situation.

I finally had the opportunity to take a long, overdue staycation; allowing me to take a break from friends and family so I could press my "reset" button. I enjoyed the St. Clair hotel so much I had to take advantage and stay an extra night. Some of the MagMile hotels in Chicago have caused me to have lowered expectations. The St. Clair has definitely raised the bar. I'm not sure how long the property has been in existence, but all the fixtures, furniture, and functionality come across as new and trendy.
Ms. Destiny, at the front desk was very helpful, and obliging with the few requests I had. Mr. Freddy , another team member was just as polite and even called up to the room to confirm that he helped me to the best of his ability after I'd requested it.. These reasons alone have had me satisfied. But to supercede my expectations, the room attendant, Bre, kept me laughing the couple times I passed her in the hallway while she was working hard. Phadra, during the overnight hours was very kind. And Mr. Smiles, who I believe is the manager, (his name evades me right now) incessantly greeted me with the brightest smile I've seen since the pandemic began. If I had more time I could go on and on about the reasons any tourist or Chicagoan would enjoy the St. Clair, but I must now wake up from this weekend dream hotel and return to reality!
Final note, the rate was one of the lowest in a 2 mile radius, and we're talking about the Heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile.

The Good: Located a block off the magnificent mile, close to cheap parking.

The Bad: This is an older building, that's been renovated extensively, unfortunately the upkeep is poor. The floors were filthy, black dirt along the edges of walls that wasn't being cleaned. Every time I went to put my shoes on after getting out of the shower and walking the short distance to the bed, my feet were gross. Our room was a standard king, and it was TINY, which isn't necessarily a deal breaker for the cost and location the size was alright, just be aware if you're not a fan of small spaces or are a bigger person that the bathroom has only a few square feet of standing space and you have to edge between the foot of the bed and wall to reach the other side of the room.

I see reviews from a month ago about the weed smell, and that's still going on. Elevators were the worst offender, our room smelled fine.

Overall, I'd prefer to pay more and stay elsewhere. If you're under 30 it's a great budget hotel for visiting the city, but if you can afford to stay elsewhere I would recommend it.

Yes, our standard rooms are a bit "cozy." but we do offer Superior King and Deluxe Double rooms that are not only larger, but also feature a mini-fridge and microwave. My family and I stayed at this hotel. Guest representative Amerca Reed had exceptional customer service, she gave us great rates and made our stay very comfortable. She definitely deserves a raise and/or promotion. Watch out for Kyle the representative though. He was very arrogant and rude. The hotel is conveniently located right off Mag Mile and there are plenty of restaurants around. Very much recommended.

I usually try to stay close to the downtown area when in Chicago, but this particular trip I decided to stay near Magnificent Mile. I'm so happy I decided to do this because St. Clair Hotel has instantly became my new favorite place to stay. When I first called to ask questions, I was warmly greeted on the phone by Armica R. Not only did Armica answer all of my questions, but she was able to help me have a peace of mind with switching to a hotel I have never stayed with before. Upon arrival, she checked me in and was the nicest, most patient, professional I've ever encountered in a hotel setting. Her hospitality, along with the great location to the best shopping Chicago has to offer, the relaxing room and cleanliness, and just how informative and helpful the front desk team has been on all three of my stays at St. Clair (yes, I loved it so much in April and May that I have made it my new hotel of choice for my monthly business trips to Chicago) really make me a fan of the location. I also have to give a big thank you to Freddie who was also kind enough to go above and beyond with a nice smile and helpful attitude while trying to extend my stay. He was so patient and friendly to work with, and he had great suggestions on me for things to do in Chicago outside the downtown area. Finally, I forgot her name (my apologies) but the young lady who work the PM shifts at front desk had nothing but a great personality and cheerful presence during all the interactions I saw her engage in with the guests and myself while trying to get dinner ideas. Again, the service was top notch and really what sold me on the entire hotel. You won't be disappointed here at all. The neighborhood is safe as well, which was a huge perk for me. The only drawback was the elevator. It was under construction on one side, so there was only one bank to use which caused so much wait time. Thank you Armica, Freddie, evening front desk associate and St. Clair Hotel!

DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL : 2 single moms w 2 teens , We Booked a double room a month before arriving to Chicago our Plane was delayed so we got to town arnd 10 pm.
When we checked In we were told they only had king room ( no cots , not even extra blankets for someone to sleep on the floor ) We turned away to discuss our options and they gave away the king room to someone else and had no rooms left . 2 woman w kids left homeless at night in a nearly sold out city . Luckily the double tree Hilton came to our rescue and told us a sold out hotel is obliged to find their guests another hotel or room. Seriously don’t give these ppl your money stay elsewhere.

Hi, I didn't get any shuttle from the airport. I just used public means of transport, that is subway first, from airport to Jackson because I didn't know exactly where to get off, then a taxi from there to the hotel (about 10 mns), but you can ask the hotel if there is a shuttle to get downtown from the airport. Have a great stay in Chicago!

The hotel does not offer other parking options, but there are pay-to-park alternatives nearby. The total for all vehicles for the entire stay is collected at check-in and reservations for the valet parking service are not required. Custom vans, dually trucks, and other oversize vehicles may not be able to be parked, and trailers and motorcycles cannot be parked.
