Beautiful contemporary hotel. Newly renovated, in a perfect location for theaters and the miracle mile shopping. The staff is stellar, upgrades are generous and the river view is breathtaking! The bar food is excellent and reasonably priced. One downside is the acoustics in the lobby are awful. The music is too loud, the background noise is annoying. All around unpleasant....

I just returned from a business trip staying for one week in the Renaissance. Location and rooms are very nice, as is the service. But coming down into the lobby the accoustics hit you when there are people gathering. Friday and Saturday evening are such moments where a party is been kicked off at the bar in the lobby -...

I have mixed reviews about this hotel and find it hard to rate because of that. When we first arrived and walked through the door where you have to go to "check in" isn't all that obvious. I don't think I have ever been to a hotel where the check-in desk is not either to the right or left of...

Thank you for your time in writing a detailed review of our hotel. We appreciate your honesty and were glad to hear there were so many positive points about your stay. We do want to apologize however for the negative points you experienced. Certainly not receiving notification once your room was ready is understandable frustrating. We do hope you will...

Stayed the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel 6 days and we had an amazing time. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Susie Chouloute, the navigator, is fantastic. She provided us numerous recommendation and helped us plan our stay. She really make us feel at home.

We've traveled quite extensively but never usually stay in the nicer hotels (so we can travel more.) My husband was here for a conference and I drove down (from Milwaukee) for a night. I work night shift so I slept in the room during the day when I first got there-the black out drapes were amazing-completely kept the sunlight out....

We stayed here for 5 days, hotel is located perfectly, everything is within walking distance. Staff super friendly (like anyone in Chicago), rooms are new and facilities are good. Breakfast is not as exquisite as you would expect and service is a bit slow, but overall still very good! This hotel still charges for Wifi ($12/day) which I think is...

Stayed in a great room. Location couldn't have been better. Think the renovation was just about wrapped up--didn't bother us at all. Felt icky, though, when the doormen ignored my family multiple times as we entered and exited. Yeah, we have kids and dress casually and carry backpacks--we're obviously not business travelers. At first I thought they were just ignoring...

Kate - We want to extend our sincerest apologies for the issues you experienced during your stay with our bell staff. This is certainly not Marriott standard and completely unacceptable behavior. Stayed here on a business trip. The location was perfect. So many great restaurants in walking distance. The lower level of the building has many businesses such as a convenience store, barber shop, Starbucks, Chase Bank. I had a room with a king size bed. Let me say first that this has been my favorite hotel in the US for nearly 20 years. I am in Chicago at least once a year on business, and my daughter now lives there, so we get to Chicago even more often. I have probably stayed here 25 times. I loved the place; it felt like coming home. The...
