We had such a warm welcome at the Homestead from Todd, he is so helpful and was great at customer service, as was his wife the next day. Situated in beautiful Evanston, this hotel is unique and quaint and super friendly. Great that breakfast is included in room rates too, good gym facilities and lovely porch area to sit out...

This is a charming hotel with an old b&b feeling - nothing is modern or chic but pleasantly homey and personal. The location cannot be better - 5 minute walk to the beach, many shops and restaurants, and free parking at a nearby garage. I noticed stained carpet and curtain, noisy air conditioner, the cracked wall, old blankets, etc. They...

Were in Evanston for a wedding and stayed here on a recommendation from friends. Do not expect the most modern of hotels, but it you like personality and a European feel, this is the place. Price was not bad for Chicagoland. It is close to lots of interesting restaurants and only two blocks from Lake Michigan. Lovely walking to the...

Great hotel with excellent customer service! Thank you everyone for going above and beyond with all of my request. The hotel is situated in a great central location near the beautiful beaches and a quick 3 minute walk to Northwestern. I would stay here again and recommend it. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to return soon.

We stayed one night before flying home to Sweden. Next time, we would not hesitate to stay several days! Old fashioned hotel with charm, near the beach, close to commuter train, free convenient parking in a parking garage. And above all - service minded staff!

The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, .the bathroom needs an update, the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the porch was delightful! It is a great location for a stay in Evanston. Nice to walk around the neighborhood and a couple of blocks to the Lake and the a nice beach.

What a really nice place to stay! A bit different than a traditional hotel but that's what I liked. Very quaint! The staff was very friendly, the room was clean(a bit dated) but I'm not one who minds that, really good continental breakfast, We actually stayed in the one bedroom apartment and it was completely stocked with everything we needed....

I was in town to visit my daughter and The Homestead was only a couple of blocks away so it was the logical choice. The place looks like a plantation home from The South in the 1860s--definitely out of place on a tree-shaded street that is lined with brick homes. It has a lovely porch where you can sit and...

Stayed here for my nephews wedding. Great old 1929 hotel! Charm in every corner. It was updated while keeping the charm of " yester" year. Having said that, keep in mind it was built in 1929. The rooms are small, Ours had a dressing room in front of our bathroom. My in-laws had a room with a 1929 stall shower....

First let me say I go out of my way to stay at bed and breakfasts and historic hotels, so a bit of peeling paint, a small sink, or creaky pipes never bother me, and I did find aspects of this hotel (such as the exterior, mail boxes, and tiny old elevator) very charming. My favorite part was the in-room...
