The only Shangri-La hotel I have ever visited. Situation out of town and seemed to be rather empty. Pool area was great, but needs to be prebooked so that they open it. High standard hotel with neat rooms.

This really fine hotel. It is recently renowated. Hotel has really nice and clean bathrooms. Reastaurants are good and food was also good. Hotel has a special cafe bar wher you can buy really good coffee and have many special coffees too. Waitresses were polite and really beautiful.

Was told this was a good hotel but being North Korea, I was sceptical. However, it proved to be excellent. There were all the facilities in the bedroom, it was spotlessly clean and the bathroom had all the bits you need. It's well situated in the mountains with great views, a nice bar, smart staff - only wish I'd booked...

Amazing hotel at Mount Myohyang. Room very comfortable with views and a balcony to the rear, Decent sized bathroom with selection of toiletries. Rooms have their own fire hoods, though we were warned not to use unless there was obviously an emergency. Impressive public areas and choice of bar or coffee shop. Female staff were garbed in tartan, which made...

Incredible luxury hotel located at around 160 kilometers from Pyongyang. The rooms have everything you could need in them. The hotel itself totally spotless and restaurant rooms huge. I heard there was a swimming pool available but as I did not have my stuff with me, I did not investigate more. Massages were also available!

Huge hotel, at the entrance to the Myohyang mountains. It was recently refurbished and offers every luxury that a 5-star-hotel can offer. Rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. Bathroom more than fully equipped with every amenity you can think of. Very nice overview of the scenery from the balconies, offering a stunning sunset view. Various bars, a huge restaurant,...

Absolutely stunning lobby and restaurants, accentuated by glossy and glitzy hallways and lifts. The initial room was unavailable due to lack of hot water, but following several changes, we were upgraded to a two-room suite. It was splendid, with separate living room and bedroom. Temperature was alright, despite limited air-conditioning control. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.

First time in my life we had a huge five star hotel more or less for ourselves, the location is beautiful and you should visit the countryside (if they let you). Huge breakfast room with no other people. Check in took a long time because the elevators were not working. Luckily there is an (empty) bar in the hotel. Hotel...

The standard at this hotel is top notch. It's newly built, so all the interior and furniture is brand new. The bed is the best I slept in in North Korea. The staff was friendly, although seemingly slightly apprehensive (or not very outgoing, maybe I should say instead) which seemed to be the norm in North Korea. Or perhaps it's...
