Stayed on the third floor. It's possible the hotel is renovating the other floors. Front desk was polite and helpful during check in. Had double beds. One did not have a mattress pad. Bathroom had chucks of something on the faucet and door knob. Wore shoes entire time. Buy Lysol before your stay.

After a long day of driving, we were looking for a quick, off the expressway place to stay. The outside of the hotel is 100% plus better than the experience inside. You have heard of the phrase, "you can't judge a book by its cover". Well, this is one of those situations. After entering the first room we were issues,... More

Did not read reviews, biggest mistake ever - they're all true and then some. The only saving grace was that we had some bedding of our own to use as a barrier and some Xanax. Set your expectations lower than a brothel. They asked if I was paying cash like that's the norm for their clientel. Smoke free? not so... More

The first room's heater was broken, cigarette burns EVERYWHERE. Bad smell, dirty carpet, every wall sconce cracked. Asked for a different room, even WORSE! TV screen had been vandalized and would not work, cigarette burns everywhere again, toilet seat barely attached, towels so dirty they looked like someone had cleaned their car rims with them, one bed had blanket but... When cross country following Route 66 and came back and stayed at the Budget Inn Express in Joliet, Ill. It was the absolute worse hotel on the trip. A non-smocking room smelled like a smoking room and the odor got into everything. Toilet seat was a round one on a pedestal toilet. The bath tub was filthy along with the... More

Pillows and sheets on bed had cigarette burns and filthy. Couldn't bring myself to sleep on them. There was a plastic bag over the smoke detector. Cigarette burns on the bath tub, toilet seat and counter top. I left without staying the night, I asked for my money back and was refused. I asked for a partial refund and they... More

Luckily I asked to see the room BEFORE I paid for it. The sheets bedspread and pillow were thrown on the window ledge - they were filthy. The pillows were stained, and there was crap and cigarette burns in the carpet (this is a non-smoking room!!)Absolutely no sign that a housekeeper cleaned the room. I know this is a cheap,... More

Do NOT try to save a few bucks and stay here. First room: hair on the sheets, pillows dingy and flat. Second room: huge burn holes in the bedspread, too scared to check for more hair. We did an about face and got out of there! Spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else!

This place is terrible. I was late adding more time to my room during check out time because of work, and they gave the family pet away to a guest. With threats of lawsuits, we got her back. The hotel is dirty with trash in same spots in halls and stairs everyday. Stay at Motel 6 behind instead. Much nicer.

We stayed there in Aug 2013. The advertised rate was for a single person. Doubles rate was $5 more. The manager showed us the room before we paid. The room was clean with the bare necessities. No funny smells. Bedspread had a few tiny burn holes and the pillows had seen better days. We asked for, and got additional pillows.... More
