My husband and I decided to take a long weekend in Southern Illinois and a friend told us about Makanda Inn. We loved it! We stayed in the Sienna cottage and it was very quaint. We loved that it had the cabin feel with luxury hotel necessities. We choose to go to the main lodge for breakfast each morning and...

This was our second time we stayed at the Makanda Inn. The Inn is beautiful, nestled in the woods. In the morning you can smell the coffee and delicious breakfast being cooked below. Outside the woods are alive with birds and the scents of the lavender wild geraniums in bloom. We love the rooms which are beautifully appointed . The...

The Makanda Inn is truly a hidden gem. The craftsmanship in the inn is incredible. It is truly private and comfortable and most of all the innkeepers are warm and welcoming. The property is secluded which makes it feel like a true get away while still providing a beautiful common room to gather with other guests if desired. The breakfast...

So happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us in the Inn. We very much appreciate your kind words and compliments! With so much to do in our area and the long drive for you, maybe you'll come for a few days next time and really get to unwind and relax. Hope to see you back!

I went to college at SIU and continued to visit for years after - it always felt like a home to me. A year ago I had a friend getting married in St. Louis and my husband (also went to SIU) and I decided to go to Carbondale and wineries a few days before. There was only one problem -...

Very unique cabin, it really is made of straw and beer bottles! The layout of the West End Cottage is perfect for two couples, but a little pricey for what you are getting. They advertise it as a B & B, but there is no breakfast so I guess it's just a B... Very clean, very comfortable, great welcome staff....

Thank you for your review! West End is our favorite cottage and when 2 couples split the rental, it is the least expensive, per night rate, here on the property. We have many amenity additions planned for this cottage this year, even though most guests tell us, "it had everything they needed for their getaway." Keep an eye on our...

We had an amazing stay in the Indigo Cottage! The decor and view was very relaxing and eco-friendly. A wonderful retreat for any couple! Very private and the view is just incredible! Malcolm and Lorraine were very friendly and helpful, with great advice about local places to eat and see. Couldn't ask for more and can't wait to return!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay. We know you enjoyed a lot of what this property has to offer and the weather was pretty great that weekend too, for February! Something we try to let everyone know is, the weather in Southern Illinois is awesome year round! We also want to thank you...

Makanda Inn is the ONLY place to stay in Southern Illinois! This unique inn/bed and breakfast was the perfect place for a couples getaway to wine country. The homemade hot breakfast was simply divine and a great filling base for a day of wine tasting. We had bacon and French toast with raspberries one day and a veggie omelet the...

We loved it! The Sienna cottage was very clean and comfortable for 2 people and had just the right amount of amenities. The breakfasts were excellent, and the hosts were very friendly and made you feel at home. It was a very relaxing weekend and we definitely hope to return.

Hi, We really enjoyed meeting you both and getting to know you! We were happy to make the arrangements for you to come into the Inn each morning for breakfast. Also, we are delighted to hear you "loved your Sienna cottage experience!" We look forward to having you back when you can getaway.

We stayed in the Sienna Cottage. This is a unique B&B, but we would not return. The cabins have thin walls allowing ANY noise to be heard in the adjacent room. It was uncomfortable enough that even a trip to the restroom could be heard by all. The cottages also do not include breakfast. Parking for cottages is very small...

We came here on a 2-night getaway, but wish we could have stayed longer. The Sienna cottage was cozy and had a wonderful view of the woods. Everything was very clean and well maintained. First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to share your great experience for our future guests to read! We will say that at least 90% of our guests who stay for just 2 nights, find it is just not enough time to really explore & enjoy this unusual part of Southern Illinois. Who hope you'll return for a...
