Matikuri is this little piece of heaven far far away from the stress of everyday life. Once you set foot in Matikuri, you’ll be welcomed by Benjamin who will lay down the rules of the house for you : Make yourself at home! And it is so easy to do, to simply ease into island life. Grab a kayak to...

Benjamin and his wife Jill are very experienced. The bush material bungalow was basic, but fine, with agreat sunrise view from the teraace. Shared toilets/shower also. The meals were great, and the snorkeling (gear free of chage)and manta ray excursions excellent. The free of charge kayaks are in top condition.

Ok so I was hesitant to stay at Matikuri after reading some of the reviews but I am so happy my friends and I decided to go for it. Our stay began with Ben picking us up in his canoe from the airport and we had an amazing ride into the sunset to the lodge. This is an eco lodge...

Where to start.... We flew from Honiara to be met at the grass strip airport in Seghe by the very friendly owner, Benjamin. A short boat ride and we arrived at Matakuri. Benjamin made us feel very much at home as he showed us around the flowered trails that led to our bungalow, the toilet room and the bathhouse. The...

Benjamin, Jilly and his family have created a perfect environment for a wonderful stay in this part of Western Province. The meals were outstanding, the accommodation was perfect, and the service was second-to-none. We were looked after very comfortably and given the opportunity to explore village and lagoon life (both on and under water) in a very personal and personable...

Makituri was fantastic, good comfortable accommodation, great food and very relaxing. Its not too remote, but feels like you are and you don't miss the mobile phones, computers, tv, etc. There's no power other than solar charged batteries which provide night lights and charging for mobile devices, so bring a torch. Water is plentiful tank water and perfect for drinking,...

A brilliant weekend away at this remote hideaway with great friends, lovely food and a most amazing location! Seeing the clownfish, the parrot fish and sharks was great, but also breathing in the tranquility was well worth the trip. Just pulled the boat up to the deck, threw in a fishing line and laid back to wait for the hours...

Ben and Jill are so welcoming. Even the environment surrounded is peaceful and beautiful! Given you the taste of Solomon island traditional living, with local built bangalow that lays to the sea front. Just don't forget to bring you fishing gears to fish just in front of your bangalow. Lots of activities there; Bird-watching, snorkelling, fishing, diving, village tour and...

Ben made me feel at home during my 4 night stay. Just total isolation! Lovely! Good snorkeling around the area. Ben helpful in arranging day trips around the lagoon. Spacious accommodation overlooking the lagoon and huge communal area. Great food, cooked by Ben himself. Watch sharks from the jetty at sunset.

We stayed at Matikuri Lodge for a week. We enjoyed the daily adventures with Ben including the Manta Ray expedition near Uepi Lodge and a nearby village known for woodcarvings. We had great breakfasts made by Ben's wife, Jilly. The location for the resort itself is lovely, however, the units are in need of repair. We left Matikuri with a...
