HOTEL HAS BEEN SOLD. Do not plan to stay here. Although this was a unique and very interesting place to stay, the owners retired and sold it. The new owner wants to use it as a distillery, This would be a great addition to the...More
It's an eccentric (I borrowed this term from another review but it's perfect for this hotel) quaint, and clean hotel! The owners are personable and accommodating. It's definitely an unusual place to stay. It'll be memorable. They have wifi too!

Rustic wood floors, high ceilings, sheer curtains. Reminds me of visits to my old relatives in rural America when I was a child. The bedroom in my affordable suite was A/C but the rest wasn't. Ceiling fans and the old time feeling of being warm!...More

This hotel was closed when the owners relocated to Des Moines. However, someone else has bought this hotel and is completely redoing it. I don't know when it will be open, but you can call the owner at 815.244.0201 to ask him. The new name is Bridgewater Inn at the Historic Glenview. If he is not open yet, be sure to ask him when it will open, because it will be a great place to stay, and our town is very charming to visit.
