A beautiful spring day in a lovely setting set the standard of our visit. Well presented food cooked to perfection. Well done to the chef. A place for that special occasion is my opinion. A hidden gem. Well done to the proprietors and staff. Thank you all.

My husband and I have been lucky to stay in some wonderful places, but this place just got it so right! There was a warm, friendly & relaxed greeting. We were a party of four couples and we got to choose our rooms which were all beautiful, full of character yet offering all your creature comforts. After a walk we...

Second visit this year, and we didn't want to go home! Hospitality and food are second to none. You really do feel you are a house guest, and we even forgot to lock our bedroom door as we felt so at home! Thanks to Olly and Rebecca - this is our new favourite place!

This was our 4th visit in just under a year, this time to celebrate my husband's birthday and accompanied by our son who now understands why we like it so much. Olly's food is remarkable and beautifully presented, Rebecca's hospitality is second to none and the lounge with its log fire remains the most relaxing place I've ever sat. We...

The hotel is beautiful, comfortable and historically interesting, the food is wonderful, the hospitality beyond reproach, we had the Nathaniel Bernard room which is very lovely. This level of running a hotel is hard to get right, Rebecca and Olly so have!

Stayed here as a break enroute to Cornwall and chosen almost at random. And heavens what a find, the perfect country house hotel. A spectacular house and gardens serving the highest quality food and with friendly attentive service.

The house is a remarkable piece of living history. The restoration has retained the essential Elizabethan character yet made it work in today's world. An unusual achievement. Our room was wonderful. The public spaces are lovely with open fires and even a Steinway baby grand to play - if you can. Ollie the chef is approachable and relaxed. He's so...

What a find! SUMMARY This is a 'not to be missed' hotel (factually a restaurant with rooms) with an outstanding chef. The location is beautiful, the house stunning, old yet tastefully restored, blending contemporary with the old in perfect balance. Olly and Rebecca run Langford, Olly in the kitchen and Rebecca front of house... but the atmosphere is simply so...

We visited with friends to celebrate a birthday. Beautiful building, great food and wonderful service. Pre dinner drinks in one of the comfortable lounges and then dinner in an intimate setting. If you want a special place for a special treat then this is it

Visited for the first time as a birthday treat. Lovely old property tucked away nicely from the main road. Friendly and informal service, with a modest but varied choice of courses. Nice to select dinner over a drink and nibbles before going to the table. Extensive list of wines, mainly French but with some new world offerings and advice available...
