This may well have been quite a nice resort but it is let down by an obvious lack of investment in maintenance, poor service, bad food and its location on a marsh. I foolishly relied on the website and wrongly assumed the amount I paid meant it was a top quality hotel. It is not! This was my only truly... More

Flamingo Bay must have been a wonderful place back in the day but it is old and tired and is certainly not worth the amount they are asking per night. The pictures on the website are a bit misleading! The location and the views are magnificent, the staff are lovely trying their best to please and make up for all... More

We were staying in Tofo and visited Flamingo Bay only for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Conrad the hotel manager was extremely helpful and friendly and convinced us to have the four course table d'hôte instead of the à la carte. Just as well. All the food was excellent, and the mains of langoustines could not be improved on.... More

Whilst the location is beautiful and the staff are friendly, the resort was a big disappointment. There are a lot of maintenance issues and it just looks shabby. The food, while good was not WOW! We loved Mozambique and will definitely go back but maybe not to Flamingo Bay.

First off, this place is in a remote rural part of Mozambique, so you really get the peace and quiet. It is extremely beautiful and perfect for a romantic getaway. The lodge picked us up which was great. The rooms are clean and its a little bit of a walk to your rooms as it is built on the water... More

Bungalows are pricey for the facilities offered. But have comfortable large double beds with amazing private verandas looking out onto mangroves and sunsets. Room 120 has the best sunset uninterrupted view. Hot showers were a bit hit and miss as each 3 bungalows share the same supply of hot water, so it's a bit first come, first served. Food was... More

When we arrived at a little chaotic airport Inhambane, we realized in the shuttle to the resort, we did not receive a stamp in our passports. The manager Conrad arranged immediately next day transport back to the airport and arranged everything with the customs. Otherwise we would have been fined for a 10 day illegal stay in Mozambique when we... More

My wife enjoyed this spot for our honeymoon. We visited for 5 days and enjoyed the water underneath our chalet, the difference between high tide and low tide, the sun downers. It was a great trip! We loved the food, we loved the staff, the place was always clean, they prepared your bed and towels for you. Its not a... More

The 20 over water bungalows are set beautifully in the tidal lagoon. Each one has a mostly private deck from which there are steps, which appear a bit rickety but are strong, down in to the lagoon. The water, even in winter, was easily swimmable, and there were small fish, including some tropical ones, and crabs. Lots of shells and... More
