A glowing wood stove, excellent hand-pulled ales, and beautifully prepared meals. The Black Bull is one of the most welcoming, warm and comfortable pubs I have eaten in for many months. Worth a visit!

Had dinner here last night with my daughter and her boyfriend. The Landlord was very welcoming and the atmosphere was great. We sat and ate in the bar not to far away from the log burner. It was really cosy. We will definitely be back!

I have to say to all of you that on the night that the food, service, and atmosphere was just great. But, Kev, don't put such a huge log on the burner!! We were all loving it everytime someone walked in through the door to let cold air in. But, can we all just say that the meals we ate...

Fresh fish pipping hot with an abundance of chips mushy peas and of course tartare sauce, what more could you possibly want? Its been a little while since visiting this lovely of the beat establishment but definitely worth the effort. I won't leave it so long next time!

Food was great and service pretty good. Lucas behind the bar was friendly and prompt at serving our Drinks. The evening went downhill when I needed to change my Baby and asked the Waitress where to change her to which the Landlady replied the Carpark and did not realise I had heard the comment. Totally Inappropriate and Unprofessional.I ended up...

What a great village pub, very friendly, looks great, food great and really good choice, allowing my dog Marlie in was an absolute gem as we do not leave her anywhere. I can not recommend this more highly, I live around 30 minutes drive away and are staying at the lodge in our touring van but will definitely drive up...

We had a really lovely dinner at The Black Bull, service was very good, atmosphere very relaxed and food delicious. There was plenty of variety and my Chilli was certainly Home made ( excellent kick) ! Only wished they had custard to accompany our puds - that would have made my evening. I would highly recommend this pub for a...

Fish and chips were piping hot and delicious. Our waitress, Lauren, was a delight and very attentive. £70 for the room was on the steep side even though the bed was comfortable. Entrance door used for staying guests had piles of junk nearby, another reason we felt price was too high!

Went for Sunday lunch. 2 coursed £14.25 and excellent value for money. We had 1 beef and 1 lamb. Both nicely cooked and very generous portions - plates could be a little larger. Good selection of veg. Lovely roast parsnips and potatoes. Excellent gravy. Dessert menu offered interesting choices but we had little room so chose the vanilla cheesecake which...
