This inn is located on the 6 Nations Indian Reserve in Ohsweken, Ontario. On a Saturday morning, it only takes about 1 hour into Toronto and about 1.5 to Niagara.
The inn consists of several log cabins. Our cabin contained 8 guest rooms. The only downfall of the inn, is the creakiness of the floor above, but this is due to the log cabin construction--my advice--take a 2nd floor room. We requested a king sized bed--and got it. Furniture is in the outdoorsy-woodsy style. Bathroom had stand alone shower, but no tub (not really needed) and was super big. Air conditioning and cable in all rooms. Very nice continental breakfast and full kitchen if you feel the need. Very quiet area....away from touristy places. Very serene and quiet. Loved it and will definitely be returning if we are in the Toronto area again.

We spent two nights at the Bear's Inn and we had a wonderful stay. The inn sits in the middle of the Six Nations reservation, and is delightfully quiet. The log cabins are well isolated and the air inside the rooms is cool but does not get stuffy and smelly, like in a regular, modern hotel room (the inn has central air conditioning). The furniture is NOT cabin-style - we had a 4-post bed with a canopy in our suite, and the rest of the furniture was similar to what you can find in any nice B&B. All the rooms and the corridors were decorated and kept very clean. The previous reviewer mentioned a squeaky staircase - our staircase was carpeted and did not squeak. The only reason why we didn't sleep perfectly one night were our neighbors, who went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and turned the ventilation on, which of course was noisy. Otherwise we had a very restful stay - I only wish we could have stayed longer. The owner - Lisa - is very friendly and helpful, and also very efficient. Unlike anywhere else in Canada, the cost of the room is exactly what is quoted on-line - there are no other taxes added. It is easy to get from the Inn to the major highways going to Niagara or Toronto, and gas on the Six Nations reservations was 75 c/liter, as opposed to everywhere else, where it was at least CAD $1/liter. If you want a nice, good value, place to stay in the region, this is it, just make your reservation in advance because it seemed to fill up, especially on the weekend. We got there on a Thursday, and even then there were no vacancies.

This is a hidden gem as we found out this one by accident. In the beginning, we just want to visit the Six Nation's area. What's better than staying inside the area, rather than commuting to Hamilton or Brantford.

This country-feel place is like log cabin with modern facility. It's fully air-conditioned with modern facilities, not a rustic camp. That's said, this place still offers fresh air as it's far away from factories/highways/cities.

The room is very nicely decorated, beyond our expectation. The interior wall is covered with logs to match the exteriors. I enjoy the hot shower after morning walk. Afterwards, I also have the chance to sit in the patio. We have great complimentary continental breakfast (bagels, muffin, jam, egg, yogurt, coffee/tea, and fruits).

We'll definitely come back for this place.

If you're looking for a quaint, lovely, peaceful getaway, this is the perfect place! I was here with my boyfriend for a romantic weekend and we had such a great time. The continental breakfast was a perfect light breakfast and fairly healthy. The rooms were beautiful and the owner was so nice. I wish I could have stayed here longer. Truly feels like a home away from home!

Also, the price of the rooms was so reasonable for the quality of the rooms and the breakfast! Bonus, there were no taxes! Extra bonus, it was right in the middle of town (Ohsweken) and close to everything. P.S. Burger Barn was awesome!!!

In response to a previous review about the logs needing a dusting, I inspected the logs and noticed that there was actually no dust at all. The logs naturally look sort of whitish (I think because they're old) but they weren't dirty. In fact the rooms were very clean.

Room Tip: I would suggest the room above the kitchen or dining room. Very romantic and great view of nature!

Stayed here several nights for an event. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast is good for the very reasonable price of the rooms. Location is central if doing business or at an event on Six Nations. Nice big verandas and breakfast room give a relaxing country feel. Bed comfy and overall ok. My only issue with this inn is that the rooms needed a good cleaning. The daily cleaning was fine, everything done that you would expect - but the walls are logs and have A LOT OF DUST on them. The carpets are most likely from late eighties / early nineties and need some cleaning. Several of us had same symptoms of itchy eyes and breathing issues. I think many hotels do cursory cleaning of rooms but not seasonal major cleaning and so overtime dust builds up. Air conditioning was a bit on the cold side with no control of temperature - so we covered the vents and opened the windows for fresh air... not an enviro. friendly option. Plenty of extra pillows and cot if required. No closet. Table in room and comfy armchair are good additions. Good value for price! Good little getaway from the city! Short drive to Brantford. Some nice craftshops, restaurants on the reserve only minutes from this Inn.

My husband and I were at a family gathering in South Cayuga and wanted to stay in the area (within 30 minute drive). We had read the reviews on TripAdvisor and made a reservation for the Saturday.
The Inn was very easy to find and our room was spotless. One review mentioned that the inn was a bit dated. We found that the friendliness of the Innkeeper, Lisa, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms (rustic decor in keeping with the log structure of the buildings) and the peaceful surroundings far outweighed this observation, making our stay a "very pleasant surprise". Breakfast, in a warm inviting dining area and kitchen was self serve. There was cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt, coffee or tea, etc., perfect for us.
We look forward to staying here again!

My husband and I stayed at The Bear's Inn for one Sunday night in October. The location is excellent for exploring the entire area and easy to find. The log lodge was quiet and orderly. In the guest room, all the amenities needed were at hand. The bed was comfortable. Downstairs, the kitchen was stocked with numerous food items for the continental breakfast which is self-serve.
Lisa Johnson, the owner, was cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. If we ever venture into this part of Ontario again, we will be staying here. The price was right as was everything else.

My husband and I stayed here while we were in the area visiting some family. The owner was very attentive and helpful - recommended a couple of great places to eat and sights to see. A continental breakfast was included and was very good. We found the place to be charming and is located back from the road, which lends to the quietness of the property.

The room was clean and comfortable and are very reasonably priced.I would definitely come back to stay here again. Very much enjoyed it!

We were at an event in Caledonia which has no hotels of it's own. Rather than drive to Port Hope to stay in a Super 8 I suggested that we stay at the Bear's Inn which is just a short drive away. Everyone in my group enjoyed our stay there. All the rooms are different but all are very comfortable. The only issue I had with my room was a lack of outlets to charge various items at night. I found the temperature a bit warm, but since I was able to open a window the temperature in my room was just right for sleeping. I'm happy to stay here again when I'm in the area.

Stayed here several nights with my wife for a quick vacation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast is good for the very reasonable price of the rooms. Location is central in the Six Nations location, but quite far from many amanities, you will need a vehicle to get to any location. Nice big verandas and was in a secluded area. Bed semi comfortable, shower was too small. Other issue with this inn is that the rooms needed a good cleaning. The daily cleaning was fine, everything done that you would expect - but the walls are logs and have A LOT OF DUST on them. The carpets are most likely from late eighties / early nineties and need some cleaning. Furniture was old, television was old with no VCR or DVD. Air conditioning was a bit on the cold side with no control of temperature - so we covered the vents and used extra blanket to warm up (this was in the summer). Plenty of extra pillows and cot if required. No closet. No kitchenette, wife was disappointed.Table in room and comfy armchair are good additions. Good price for what you get! Good little getaway from the city! Short drive to Brantford. Some nice craftshops, restaurants on the reserve only minutes from this Inn.
