Magical weekend away at The Artisan Bakehouse. We stayed in the Bakers Hut which was beautifully designed, with a super comfy bed, sweet little kitchen with all the amenities you could need, and a spacious shower room. The welcome basket was such a lovely touch, filled with fresh bread, cookies, fruit, jam, & eggs from their chickens, reflecting our hosts attention to detail. Les & Louise made the weekend very special. They also recommended some fantastic places to visit in the area, including the Kinsbrook vineyards and the Chalk restaurant at the Wiston Estate for some incredible food. With some lovely walks through the surrounding bluebell woods and a picnic area & fire pit outside the hut, this really was the perfect place to enjoy the bank holiday sunshine. We recently had the pleasure of attending a days bread baking course at The Artisan Bakehouse, run by the affable Les. From start to finish the experience was 5 star. Beautiful coffee and delicious home backed cookies to start the day, a well prepared 'classroom' with everything set up for the day, a fun interactive class all learning how to make three breads - including a DELICIOUS pizza that we had for lunch which came with a world class crumble. With bags of bread to take home at the end of the day, the experience continued to bring us pleasure as we stuffed ourselves throughout the week. Amazing experience in an amazing setting run by a wonderful couple. Thank you.

I had the perfect day learning how to bake bread properly. Les was the perfect host and teacher explaining everything simply and easy to understand. Louise provided a perfect lunch with a lovely vegetable lasagne followed by a perfect crumble and ice cream. I would heartily recommend any person to have a day at the bakery, whether an introduction to bakery or something more advanced. Brilliant.

I live locally and I have just spent a brilliant weekend at the Artisan Bakehouse to learn how to make sourdough bread with Emmanuel who is a brilliant teacher and the whole weekend was relaxed and enjoyable. I have been on many of the different courses and Louise and Les always make me feel welcome and the lunches are always delicious. If anyone is interested in baking I would recommend these courses without any hesitation, in fact I am already looking to book my next one.

An excellent workshop run in the beautiful and relaxing environment that is The Artisan Bakehouse. Les is a wonderful instructor, knowledgeable, informative and most of all patient. His enthusiasm for baking made the workshop a joy. The workshop itself was well structured, easy to understand, and gave plenty of opportunity to practice techniques that I will no doubt make use of again and again. A fantastic day that I would happily recommend.

A fantastic day, the Introduction to Bread Making course run by Les was informative and relaxed. Les instilled confidence and made the whole process enjoyable. The lunch was very tasty, in pleasant surroundings. If you are curious about the art of bread making this course is a good place to start. Artisan Bakehouse is a dream. I’ve been going there for many years for their Christmas wreath making workshops and last week my husband and I had our evening wedding reception there. We rented both cottages and the Shepherds Hut for 4 nights. The accommodation is beautiful; super clean, pretty, spacious and very comfortable. Every little detail has been thought of. The Shepherds Hut is so lovely, everything you want and more. My bridesmaids and I stayed the day before the wedding and made use of the lovely swimming pool. All of our guests commented on the magical venue, food and service. There is not one thing I would change about our wedding day and I just wish I could do it all again there. Les, Louise and the team are the loveliest of people and I would highly recommend everything about Artisan Bakehouse. Go and stay there, you will not regret it x…

This was a perfect course in a lovely environment with delicious lunch and snacks. We came away filled with enthusiasm for baking fired by Les and a car filled with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread. We so enjoyed meeting our fellow bakers and the lovely team at The Artisan Bakehouse. It was really a special day and the perfect way to mark my sister’s birthday.

My wife and I were very lucky to be part of a Sourdough Bread Making Workshop led by Emmanuel Hadjiandreou, who is quite brilliant. His knowledge and passion for breadmaking is amazing. He is an excellent teacher with loads and loads of experience. He is very patient and very hands-on. The Artisan Bakehouse is a great venue for what Emmanuel, Louise, Leigh and Les do so very well. The workshop course is well structured, and in one day, you get to make a Ciabatta, a White Sourdough Bread, a Rye Sourdough Bread and a Pizza, and very importantly, Emmanuel takes you step-by-step on how to make the sourdough starter through to the final product. It's a great day, informative, and lots of fun. Strongly recommended.
