A comfortable, privately-owned hotel in Theale, which is clearly very popular as a meetings venue. Everything you'd expect from a hotel of this class and price in a delightful old building (with a few low ceilings and doorways - only hit my head once as it hurt!). I had a large room with a four-poster bed, Good choice in the...

I'm was hoping for a restive sleep but spent the night shivering in the outbuildings.. The food was basic although the service was quick. The only bright point, in an otherwise disappointing stay, was the staff who were attentive....

Took some relatives to this restaurant for Sunday lunch and were certainly not disappointed. Although this was built in the 15th century it was absolutely charming. The menu was appetising and the food was well cooked and extremely well presented on the plates. Staff were helpful and attentive .Portions were very generous and all in all very good value for...

Easy to find, just follow the signs and keep going past Dunelm and IKEA, at the end of the road, turn left through the gate, loads of parking space! From the outside all looks very nice and it perhaps a place to stay in the summer months to take advantage of the outside space and seating area. Reception pleasant, welcoming...

We were at a wedding held here and the location and quality of food/service was up amongst the best.. Moderately priced compared to other locations the whole atmosphere created by the staff was friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and the wedding breakfast itself was absolutely delicious. Everyone commented on the quality of the food and service. The...

We stayed here for just one night and were very pleased with our stay. The hotel occupies a 15th century building which is original and full of character. Our bedroom was a good size, very nicely furnished and incorporating many of its original features. The staff were very helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and we had a wide choice for...

It's ok you know - the room's ok, the location's ok. I would struggle to say anything awful about it, as a place to stay, but I can't really think of anything great about it either. The room was, I think, in a converted stable block and was comfy enough but the tv was tiny and the windows a bit...

We have just enjoyed an excellent 3 course lunch for £18.95 though that hardly tells you how good the whole experience was today. From the moment we were warmly greeted at the door and shown to our table the lunch experience was very good. Extremely courteous and helpful staff with new and experienced members were always watchful and attentive. The...

I've stayed here a few times and find the staff very friendly, comfortable clean rooms (although somewhat dated in furnishings) a cooked breakfast and overall good value for money. Will definitely return.
