My boyfriend and I stopped by as part of the walking tour it it was late in the day. We came back the following day when the gardens were open to the public and I'm so glad we did. It was lovely, even with many of the plants not blooming due to the time of year. I would love to...

We did not realize the many connecting threads that were woven into our visit to this lovely place: easy walking to restaurants and downtown architectural sites; the former home of the family that helped put this small town on the US and worldwide modern architectural map; the change facilitator for the man who accomplished transition from a stationary Diesel engine...

We had a chance to see the gardens which are open to the public on Tuesdays and Sundays from 2:00 - 6:00 PM. The Italianate style gardens were inspired by the excavation of Pompeii, Italy. They were completed in 1913 as an adjunct to the Irwin House, the home of businessman Joseph Irwin. The house has since been converted to...

The home now an Inn was last renovated in 1910 and is a fine a specimen of a Victorian movie set as I have seen. The wooden paneling and detail are nicer than those we saw in most of our recent travels. The decor is beautiful and nice enough we will stay at the Inn on our next jaunt north....

We’d been curious about Irwin Gardens since it opened as a B&B in 2010. The 1910 Edwardian mansion with its unique sunken formal garden is located adjacent to the Henry Moore arch sculpture and the First Christian Church which began Columbus’ reputation for architecture in 1942. The mansion and garden give you a bit of a Downton Abbey experience. Rooms...

We were the only guests so we were invited to play "lord and lady of the manor" ! We arrived just as wine was being served in the library where we sat and relaxed after a long days drive, with a view of the formal gardens. After dinner at a restaurant that was walking distance we walked the garden. Then...

Three sisters came to Columbus after an 85th birthday celebration of an aunt near Indianapolis. We choose to stay at the Inn because it is an actual home from the early 1900's, and maintains even the original plumbing (which is decidedly quirky). The furnishings and the ambiance make you feel like you are living in that time, so if you...

We try to stay at interesting places when we travel. We could have stayed at a big chain hotel but we thought it would be fun to stay at a place steeped in history. We were visiting Columbus to see the architectural sites. That this B&B is connected to this history made the trip more interesting. It is lovely and...

The B&B itself is simply incredible. The grounds are spacious and interesting. The town itself has many local bars and eateries that are easily within walking distance. And like the Irwin gardens mansion, the town is filled with outstanding architecture. Just like the huge gorgeous library right next door. And this is a smaller town, mind you, but the upkeep...

The Owners and Inn Keeper have done everything possible to maintain this historical property as a gracious, comfortable B & B. The gardens are charming and well-kept. It's a perfect site for a wedding or other special event - especially with a spa on the site. I want to stay in every room! Columbus itself is full of surprises-leave time...
