I had the worst vacation experience at this hotel not because of the hotel but because of the staff. They overcharged us because of their mistake, and never refund our money. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION to this hotel and do not stay in this hotel if you don't want to deal with rude staff!

I booked online to stay at the Stone Soup Inn for an overnight business trip. I made the reservation 15 days before the trip and paid the reservation in full on my credit card, which was charged. I received two confirmation emails from hotels.com; the second specifically saying I didn't have to call. When I arrived at the inn late...

I would like to take a moment to address your concerns about your stay with us. Unfortunately when guests book through a third party site we are not able to receive information on their behalf until they initiate the call to the third party booking site. Unfortunately, hotels.com did not forward your reservation onto us to reserve it in our...

This was a lovely place to stay-- the room was very large and comfortable, and it was within easy driving distance of great food which is a must for me. It is a no-frills type of place; the breakfast was a continental type of breakfast and I had a room with a shared bathroom, but very nice overall. I would...

I decided to do something a little different on a recent two night trip to Indianapolis and stay here rather than at one of the typical chains. I was solo, and so opted for the SW Loft. Overall, the stay was very pleasant and I would not hesitate to stay here again. The young lady who served as innkeeper was...

I stayed at Stone Soup Inn for a friend's wedding. Like Indianapolis itself, Stone Soup is somewhat artsy & eccentric, but also low-key and strong on midwestern hospitality. Upon arriving there was somewhat of an odd feeling at having to telephone the innkeeper to open the door (what if I didn't have a phone with me...? Oh, right, we all...

We had a wonderful experience here - everything was as advertised, clean room and bath, generous breakfast, lovely facility with all the amenities you need - games, books, snacks, public areas and tranquil spaces. It's located in an urban setting - nice wallking in the neighborhood, yet an easy on and off the highway. We would definately stay here again!

Stayed here after getting a great deal through a booking website ($81/night!) and ended up being upgraded to a spacious loft room. The place is lovely, and very comfortable, especially since I was traveling on business and it was VERY convenient to my work location. Free breakfast and snacks were helpful, and the staff was attentive but not intrusive. Only...

Far cheaper than the other (chain) hotels in the area for the time I was staying. I arrived and was one of only 3 couples in the place for the night. We arrived late but the innkeeper was patiently waiting and gave us our key. I enjoyed a nice long bath in the shared bathroom (I was in the craftsman)...

This was my family's first time visiting a B&B. My husband was nervous about it because he preferred hotels where once you checked in you didn't have to talk to anyone unless you wanted to. For myself, I enjoy a more personal touch. Our 1 year old son had no opinion about it. Lucky for us we got a nice...

My husband and I came to Indy so that he could have surgery at the IU Simon Cancer Center. After leaving him in the hospital, it was so nice and comforting to return to the Stone Soup Inn. The inn is tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood not far from downtown. I could not have expected more from a historic...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We look to welcome new visitors to our city and have created a warm, friendly environment - a home away from home - where travelers can relax by a fire, share their experiences and sleep in comfort. Located in the heart of the historic Old Northside, the Stone Soup Inn offers all the beauty and comfort of an upscale turn of the century home. After stepping into the large foyer, relax by the baby grand piano in the living room or cuddle up with a good book in our library. All of these rooms contain beautifully detailed woodwork and hardwood floors. Breakfast will be served in our distinctive dining room or, weather permitting, on the large, wraparound porch. On the second floor, share stories with other guests in the sitting room or outside on the spacious balcony overlooking the front garden and Lilly pond. Decorated with a combination of Mission-style and Victorian-era antiques, guests will find a comfortable, convenient place to stay as they explore nearby historic sites and downtown attractions. ... more   less
