Station Hotel Shotts

Station Hotel Shotts

The wee bar where the most pleasant girl called Bréid went over and above her required service to accommodate my request for food. With 5 minutes to go until end of service And she was originally from the Emerald Isle in the county of Donegal. The Irish truly are the hostess with the mostest ☘️❤️💯

The décor was nice, the hotel situated about half way between Glasgow & Edinburgh, great for commuting & days out

However, the room was ok but plenty of improvement needed. Sound proofing against traffic & the kitchen venting.

Brown kettle from the water & the milk sachets are hopeless & the coffee was undrinkable. A small jug of fresh milk for each room on arrival please.

The bathroom was ok but cramped, the chrome fittings are rusting & the soap dish was dirty. Mould in the shower head !

The breakfast room was uninviting, so much so that a little girl was crying that she didn't like the room. We were told no cooked breakfast until 10.30 what's that about ? Using the same staff from the night before ? When he did turn up he was drinking a pint in the kitchen & had no desire to start cooking. We gave up & stopped at a cafe on the way home.

"The continental breakfast" was very poor, stale bread, again these horrible milk sachets, we had to ask several times for fresh milk.

I can not recommended an over night stay & we will not be back

Staff issues need to be addressed.

This Hotel is in the process of being refurbished. The restaurant is lovely and staff cannot do enough for you. The rooms are still a work in progress but I am sure they will be lovely when completed.

My partner and I come here for a meal often we always get a lovely meal but on this occasion we were concerned about health and safety as people walking around with no masks on this is frightening as there is a pandemic going on not happy

Having not been here for a long time and the other establishment in Shotts being closed we decided to try the station again.
I got the safe option of fish and chips and my wife got fajitas . After being given the choice of fries or thick cut chips and choosing the chips I was given thick wedges.
Fish batter was well underdone and the fish was crumbling. The spoonful of peas were nice though.
On complaining to the waitress we got a shoulder shrug
The fajitas were also very salty
The fish was removed from the bill but still a poor experience
We also spoke to another customer on the way out who was of the same opinion, not just me.
Won’t be back

Visited Station Hotel for the first time and will not be back.Ordered fish and chips for myself and friend from the a la carte menu as no other menus seem to be available on Sundays.. A bell seems to ring when food is ready and I jokingly said well that’s not ours although no one else appeared to be in the restaurant for food..less than 2 minutes after ordering our food arrived. Obviously not freshly cooked!
The batter on the fish was burnt and the fish itself tasteless.. Reheated food tasting terrible. Most of the food was still on the plates when the girl came to remove them. It was explained how disappointed we were with the uneadible food but no apology was received only a shrug of the shoulders. Very disappointed with the service or lack of customer service as well as the poor quality food. Avoid these premises unless you are willing to accept poor reheated food and service.

Fantastic food and service. Excellent quality of food and choice of meals. Ordering was great, fast service and surroundings have been redecorated and are comfortable and pleasant. The hotel seems to be extending its food options including outside catering.

I booked a private room in the Hotel for 30 people to celebrate my wife's Birthday. Everything went well, the service, dinner, drinks and staff were very good. Dinner was served warm by pleasant staff and anything we asked for was attended to no problem. We have since returned to celebrate my Grandsons 21st Birthday again all went well. I can recommend The Station Hotel to anyone.

A fantastic treat in a box! A delightful modern twist on a traditional afternoon tea with open sandwiches topped with tasty fillings accompanied by delicious fresh scones and festive cakes! Loved it so much I’m getting one delivered as a Christmas gift and I know it’ll be very appreciated. The perfect treat!
