My husband and I stayed here for three nights during the heatwave and were pleasantly surprised by the lightness and airiness of our room. Our room was so stylish and absolutely huge - the bathroom gorgeous with huge bath and walk-in shower - inspiration for my own home!

Susannah was incredibly hospitable, organising dinner on a Sunday which isn’t easy to do in France when most places are closed. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious, and nothing was too much trouble when it came to using the cooking facilities.

Noticed that there were French, German and English guests and Susannah made every single person welcome and comfortable which really helped during the crazy temperatures! Very grateful for lending us a couple of fans too.

Such a great place to base yourselves when visiting the beaches and all that Normandy has to offer.

Thanks for a lovely stay and I really hope to be back soon. Love to Basil the cat!

Dear Imogene I'm so happy about your feedback ! Indeed, you were at Les Rochers in a very particular period, the hottest days in Normandy's history ! I was happy to help with the fans, as I'm generally happy to help our guests and share the knowledge about the region, that I gained during the years. It's just my understanding of hospitality !!! thank you to you both for having endured in such a cool way those very got days 😅 Hugs from Basil Susanna

If you ever go to Normandy, with his rich culture and history, this is a highly recommended place!

You can completely relax in a beautiful setting with wonderful rooms and hospitable people. All rooms are equipped with every comfort you need in a modern outfit, with a wonderful bed and a relaxing shower or bath. Nothing you expect during a long or short stay is missing. We felt at home and relaxed from the moment we arrived.

The way in which Susanna & Konstantin pamper their guests gastronomically is sublime! Breakfast and dinner are all prepared with fresh local products and formed a feast for every taste bud on our tongue. Everything is prepared with patient and love for the guests, accompanied by beautiful wines and of course the regional product par excellence calvados.

We have been there for a week and were very sorry it was so short. Cherish la Fôret gives a lot of possibilities itself. You can hike or visit the eleventh century abbey. In addition, it is perfectly located to visit the different beaches and hotspots of the landing in Normandy or one of the beautiful castles in the environment.

Ideal mix for a wonderful restful and relaxing holiday. If you can score a holiday out of ten, Les Rochets gets a twelve.

Having seen all the information about Les Rochers our expectations were high, but our stay of 4 blissful nights there exceeded what we could have hoped for. From the moment we arrived and Susanna welcomed us we felt transported into such a happy place, full of calm and beauty. We stayed in the room called 'Les Deux' which is upstairs in the building adjacent to the utterly beautiful main house where Susanna and Konstantin live. We loved this room, with its little balcony overlooking the fields and its light and bright aspect. Beautifully furnished and a welcoming bath to be enjoyed at the end of a day of sightseeing or walking in the countryside. We were able to visit the spectacular Bayeux and Omaha beach and learn about the old and more recent dramatic history of the area. We also enjoyed the 8km circular walk from Les Rochers to the stunning Abbey in Cerisy La Foret, through forest and countryside. All this was after the most delicious breakfasts cooked by Susanna and Konstantin. Every day new delicacies, so pleasing to both eye and tastebuds, served to us with great care and attention to detail. Delicious local apple juice and produce. We were also able to prepare our suppers in the shared kitchen which was a real bonus for a bed and breakfast. One night we ordered in a wonderful seafood platter which Susanna recommended. The kitchen is restaurant standard. The auberge where the kitchen is situated is a large area in a restored barn which also has the eating area and comfortable seating. There is low-key jazz music playing in the background, interesting artefacts and art work to look at and an honesty bar for warming digestifs. We were lucky to enjoy beautiful sunsets sitting out on the terrace outside the auberge, listening to a cuckoo, deer barking and surrounded by several of the many cats that live happily at Les Rochers. Just a special, special place and made all the better by the hosting. Susanna gave us so much useful information and made us feel very much at home. Nothing was too much trouble and the love she and Konstantin have for Les Rochers and what they provide for their guests shines through. Staying at Les Rochers gives the perfect balance of countryside calm and cultural possibilities. We very much hope to return and would heartily recommend this gem of a place. Thank you Susanna and Konstantin

Les Rochers is exactly what we were looking for and even more as it exceeded our expectations by far. A quite place to relax and enjoy the best of Normandie. It was like a dream place in the middle of paradise. The owners are extremely nice doing all the necessary to have a perfect stay. Breakfast is like a gastronomic experience in the morning. I have no words to describe it. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and charming. The artworks are beautifully placed and decoration is just perfect.
It’s important to have a car.

A wonderful and amazing time, with warm, incredible kind and loving hosts. On a location so beautifully restored and decorated that "just being there" was simply delightful. The nights were so quiet, the days so peaceful which was a real treat to us, being able to escape our busy lives.

The breakfast was delicious, and was always accompanied with a small bite, which was every morning a little surprise. We had the luck of dining there twice as well, which showed the true colors of their passion for sharing what they love. The dinner was just perfect, so was our stay, and we have to admit, this stay will be difficult to surpass!

As a group of 6 (3 couples) we visited Les Rochers by bike on a cycle trip from Cherbourg around the peninsula. We visited the landing beaches, Bayeaux and cycled to Barneville-Carteret after we left on our way back to the ferry in Cherbourg. The walk from Les Rochers to Cerisy le foret was memorable with a sculpture park to visit close to the beautiful Abbey.
Les Rochers was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Each of our rooms was very large and furnished so comfortably and stylishly with super bathrooms and interesting things to look at, with much attention to detail. It was also special to be able to enjoy all the artwork in the rooms and in the main dining/lounge area.
Susanna cooked the most delicious breakfasts which were beautifully presented. She also encouraged us to use the professional, very well equipped kitchen, which was a treat to work in. We cooked our own meals and had lovely relaxing evenings with our group in her dining room.
Susanna was so relaxed and welcoming and we really felt that she wanted us to enjoy our surroundings in the most generous way.
It’s a very special place and we hope to return. Thank you for hosting us.

I do not give five star reviews lightly - but Les Rochers earned every bit of this review! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in November (the original plan was 2 nights, and we stayed an extra night we enjoyed ourselves so much).
It was everything we were looking for:
Charm - built in the remains of a 16-17th century farm house complex built in a square around a courtyard, the buildings are clearly something with so much character and history - you could see the march of time from the patterns and styles of the stone walls; but decorated with modern, cozy, and rustic furnishing (yes, apparently you can be all three at once), with perfect touches of a piece here or there to remind you that you are in a place that has been around for hundreds of years. Nothing about this B&B looks like grandma's house with doilies and tapestries - and it still feels true to itself as a cozy farm house. Also the two rooms we saw (Uno and Deux) were surprisingly large. Our room had a wood burning stove which made the cold nights very romantic.
Breakfast: Was perfect, nothing more I can say about that. Breads baked fresh daily, jams, something salty, perfect eggs, yogurt, granola, local ingredients.
Grounds: I wish we were here sometime warmer - the fields stretch in every direction, and I really wanted to sit out in the sun, enjoy the peace and quiet, and snack on some wine and cheese while reading a good book. Unfortunately, the rain and wind of a Normandy November made that impossible.
Location: About 30 minutes away from the D-Day beaches, and an hour from Mont St Michel, and 5 minutes from a small town with a couple of shops to meet your basic needs, couldn't ask for a better location (presuming you bring a car!).
Hosts: Amazing. They recommended good restaurants and got us reservations, helped us plan our days (because we came with no plan at all), were great in every way!

Dear Rebecca Many many thanks for this amazing, encouraging and very extensive review, we are very touched ! You experienced Les Rochers in fall with the wood stoves burning in a cozy atmosphere. In springtime and summer life happens outside, in the garden and the yard, the days are amazingly long. The terrace of the room you had invites to picknick. We would be very pleased to see you again some times, you were amazing guests ! Warmest regards Susanna

We were lucky to have spent two nights last week with Susanna and Constantine!
Better hosts, you could not ask for- we were treated as friends, not strangers. The food is fabulous, the room was enormous and beautifully decorated. The property is peaceful and exactly what you think of when your brain conjures up “ Normandy farmhouse “! The room and dining room were spotless - ( and the property). I wish I could go back right now.
Interesting stories about the farmhouse and the art collections ! But you have to go there yourself to find out! I have mobility issues and I found this to work well for me. No problems at all!
