Had evening meal but proved very average and bland (ordered fish) . Service good. Seating, decor and cleanliness poor. It has a quaint atmosphere and a local clients, all friendly, but even this could not change my view of my poor surroundings. Its a shame because location etc I can see this pub has a lot of potential. Won't be...

This is a traditional village pub close to our rental cottage. Gotta give it a go. Not impressed. No real welcome. Surly service. Food not too bad but the service from the bar was not good. We are a friendly bunch but were not included at all. Ate and went home. Would have stayed longer but......

We arrived Friday afternoon at 4:30 only to find the pub closed. This was not a problem however as a very kind local man who was passing by went to find the owner who was happy to let us into our room. Our room was very nice with good size bathroom and comfy bed. Tea and coffee provided and even fresh...

In a lovely village setting, this is a proper country pub, with some well kept Palmers Ales and good, no nonsense food of a higher standard than most similar places around in my opinion! We had a great night!

Really good meal in a traditional village pub using locally sourced food, the service was informal and friendly, good range of local brews, would recommend you book, glad we did as was full that evening.

I've had the pleasure of reading some of the reviews below and can only agree this is the best pub in Dorset, if not the country? This particular visit was for burns night, great atmosphere, fantastic value for money, 3 course meal and a dram included. The food was great and a good selection of non alcoholic drinks for anyone...

Was recommended this pub by other guests staying in our accommodation in Cattistock. Very pleased with our visit that we went twice! Delicious home cooked pub food, and friendly staff and locals. Prices very reasonable and made to feel welcome. A must if your in Dorset.

We really enjoyed pur stay in this little pub. The owners made us feel welcome, the locals engaged in a chat, food was lovely and I felt relaxed and very happy in this environment. The room was clean and cosy, the bathroom better than in most of the hotels and beds really comfy. We had our dog with us and...

We ate there with friends last week one lunchtime. It seems a real family run village pub, locals sat at the bar chatting and drinking and all were friendly. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food when it arrived was delicious, it did seem a long time in arriving but that was because we were just unlucky in...

Have had a lovely last minute stay here. The twin room was really large and spotless with comfortable beds. It was not ensuite but no problem to cross the corridor to its own bathroom which again was spotless. Had a great pub meal in the evening too. Will have no hesitation in staying here again if ever in the area....
