The fact that Casselodge has nothing lower than a “very good” review comes as no surprise at all. The log home and farm property look like cut outs from a travel brochure. We arrived later than the suggested 4pm checkin by about 3 hours with two babies and about 20 bags in tow, the hosts graciously greeted us with a glass of wine and showed us to our room by flashlight all while trying to sort out what to do durning a county wide power outage from a wind storm. They had us completely set up with a power source and everything we might need had the power not come back on. Luckily it did after about 2 hours.
My self a good friend and out two little girls under two stayed in the two upstairs rooms, because we were together Nicole opened the adjoining door for us so we basically had the whole upstairs to ourselves. It couldn’t have worked out better. The beautiful view of the river and animals kept the kids very entertained.
The breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever been served, every room was spotless and both hostess were so kind and lovely to us.
We plan to go back with two other families and rent out all 4 rooms one day soon!
I’ll recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone who asks.

My boyfriend and I loved this place!! It was so magical. Nicole and François were sooo friendly and funny. They put so much effort into building this bed & breakfast and it shows in the small details and decorations across the place. We rented the escapade room that opens to a beautiful pond outside that they built themselves and a small river. The breakfast was sooo good and all homemade from ingredients they made. We were very excited for the breakfast the second day. We stayed there for 2 nights. There were so many things to do around the B&B, from massage chairs to a relaxing Jaccuzzi, very cute farm animals, fire, swings, board games and movies. Nicole and François are so thoughtful. They offered wine as a welcome drink when we got there. They have popcorn available for movie nights, they have useful things at hand in case guests forget their own ( i.e.:toothbrush, pads). They knew that it was my boyfriend’s 30th birthday so they had a bottle of sparkling wine, some snacks and a card waiting for him in the room. This was extremely appreciated. We also went to Ottawa during the day which is only 30mins away, we visited the Saint Albert’s cheese factory but spent most of our time at Casselodge. We had a great time there. It’s a perfect cozy place for all seasons.

Great visit with my elderly parents for their wedding anniversary. We each had a room with a walk out to the beautiful property by the river. This is a very unique guest house built by the current owners with tastefully decorated rooms - each with its own design and accents. The entire house is so inviting as is their property with a small farm and running fields, flowers, swings, a veranda with rocking chairs and a wonderful outdoor sitting area. Nicole and Francois are very gracious hosts and make you feel right at home the minute you arrive. Breakfast was amazing. We will definitely return. Thank you for a great visit.

Our stay at Casselodge B&B surpassed our expectations to say the least!
The outdoor setting is spectacular… from the gardens, the ponds, the view of the river… all so well maintained and relaxing. The farm animals were an added bonus.
The log home is beautifully built, charming and comfortable.
Our bedroom had absolutely everything we needed. We had a large bathroom to ourselves unlike other B&Bs that we have stayed at (where we had to share bathrooms with other guests).
Our breakfast was delicious. We were treated to bread, jams, applesauce, muffins that were all homemade by our hosts. There was plenty more on the menu as well.
Kudos to Francois and Nicole, who were very welcoming and entertaining. They have much to be proud of.

Stayed at Casselodge on the civic holiday weekend. Amazing!! Admittedly, the place is a bit of a process getting to, but once you do, you will immediately find it worth the drive. The location is idyllic, with a menagerie of farm and domestic animals, backing onto a lazy river, surrounded by fields. Nichole and Francois are exceptional hosts that leave no stone un-turned in their quest for a perfect stay. The rooms are wonderfully set up, and the 2 common areas are perfect. Your every need is considered and met. The breakfasts are great. Not only is the food expertly prepared....very tasty.....there is lots! If you leave the table hungry it is no-ones fault but your own. It is too bad that we live too far away . We would love to go back again.......but I guaranty that if we were ever anywhere near Casselodge in the future, and had need of lodging, they would be our first choice!!

Have to say after our time of lockdown this 5 days at Casselodge was such a delight. It was almost unnecessary to leave and explore the area. We did manage to visit Diefenbunker, Quilters Barn, St Albert Cheese and Casselman stores. Etienne Brule pub in Enbrun will miss our custom. We returned each day after our late lunch to explore the property, hot tub, fish, read and enjoy the animals on the farm. Looking forward to seeing how much Charlie grows in a year. Breakfast was aimed to please all pallets and Nicole has incorporated healthy, local ingredients into her recipes. They were tasty and pleasantly arranged on the server. She shared recipes, explained each dish and gave us amazing cappuccino with our meal. Can not say enough about the welcome, hospitality, comfy beds, spacious rooms (ours overlooking the pond and river aka Antique room ) We were also treated to a lovely surprise , hearing about the history of the RCMP and seeing François in his serge. Was our fist vist but hopefully not our last.

My partner and I stayed at Casselodge one night in August 2020 and were absolutely blown away by the perfect setting, quiet ambiance and incomparable hospitality we experienced.
The core of Casselodge is a log cabin restored to incorporate the best of the past, including family heirlooms ,with the modern conveniences of present day, and a twist of a hobby farm complete with horses, donkey, chickens, a pig and dogs and cats!
Francois and Nicole could not have been nicer, nor more accommodating! Their signature breakfast was delicious, boasting all homemade items including the yogurt and granola served for the first course.
Mother Nature treated us to an incredible thunder and lightning storm overnight, but we were safe and sound in an upstairs suite, never worrying about the roof being torn off by high winds despite the tornado warning in the area. The sound of the rain on the roof was actually soothing!
We will stay at Casselodge again, and are considering purchasing a gift certificate (which never expires) for our daughter/son-in-law as a get-away to celebrate an upcoming anniversary because we know they will love the location, the relaxing atmosphere and being pampered over the breakfast table!

We stayed at Casselodge for one night and the stay exceeded our expectations. We got lucky to be the only guests in the lodge and were treated by hosts like it was out special night. The room was very clean and so beautiful with an amazing view of the pond and the river ( frozen in January so we will be coming back in summer) . Next to our room was a smaller tv room, a dinning table and a small kitchen. It was especially convenient for us traveling with a baby. However, we were able to use entire lodge. After dinner, we made a cup of tea ( provided by the lodge ) and spent out time in the lodge living room by the Christmas tree. It was so beautiful and atmospheric with the music and the lights it felt like a fairy tale. The next morning Francois and Nicole made us the most amazing homemade breakfast with fresh fruit and farm eggs and cheese. We felt like a royalty staying at this lodge and the hosts were the most amazing friendly people you would ever meet. This will be our new favorite getaway place and we can't wait to show this place to as many of our family and friends as we can.

If you have the chance to stay at Casselodge do it! This is the BEST vacation and best accommodations I have EVER had. The breakfast is amazing and is so delicious (way better then any restaurant can give you) and the hosts never bother you but are always there if you have a question, concern or need some advice about the Ottawa attractions. We loved our stay here and Nicole and Francois were so gracious and so pleasant. They let us go to the barn and feed the animals which my kids LOVED, and they were always willing to open the hot tub and let us kayak, nothing was ever a bother to them. I'm telling you, if you can stay here, do it, you will love it!! The rooms are nice and the common area is lovely with the games room and the little kitchenette. There is also a large fridge which we were allowed to store food in and a couple couches and chairs for sitting. There was also a table if we were to bring our own food in. Overall spectacular place to visit! Definitely 5+ Stars
