I was at St. Meinrad's for my annual retreat. This was my first time here, and as I can manage it I will be back. A retreat center is a place that allows you to leave the noise and annoyances of daily life to be able to hear the often-quiet voice of God. My retreat was just what was needed....

A stay at St. Meinrad is not for everybody. Famlies who demand a TV, waterpark, and large rooms should look elsewhere. But if you're an adult looking for peace, quiet, and serenity, this is the place. The rooms in the houses near the church, usually used for retreats or conferences, are incredibly clean and quiet. Had a one night stay here in May 2015. Could not have been more relaxed. So, what this place is NOT. It is not a typical hotel, it is a retreat center where you can stay if you are in St. Meinrad for a night. This is absolutely NOT a place to stay if you are heading to Holiday World...

I was never bothered in any way by anyone. The room contains two single beds, a chair, desk and dresser. The bathroom contains a shower and...

What a wonderful place to reflect and share time with friends. The arch abbey is beautiful, attending prayer with the monks is calming, and the whole experience was priceless. Wish I could do this once a month.

Have visited "the Hill" for many years. Hospitality is an important Benedictine value and it finds ample expression at the Guesthouse. The Guesthouse is a fairly new building, perhaps 10 years old, and offers very comfortable rooms on a par with most nicer hotels. Food is served in a common area and is satisfying and appropriate for a monastic retreat...

There is nothing doting and posh about the St. Meinrad Guest House but that is usually not why people stay there. It is an amazing stay in that most people are on a retreat or silent retreat. It is on the grounds of the Archabbey and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The rooms are basic and geared toward quiet, i.e...
