We spent two nights in Cedar Falls and went to tripadvisor to get lodging suggestions. The Black Hawk Hotel by far exceeded our expectations. It is a trendy hotel in a very vibrant downtown location. I would rate this as first class/top shelf. What sets them apart is the attention to detail. When our room was made up after our...

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Soho and Stuffed Olive are the adjacent bar/restaurant with great food, drink selection and service. Free parking steps away. I loved the old fashioned key to the room and exterior door. Quiet, we'll kept and nice art in hallways. The lobby is very pleasant to relax and read a book.

A wide variety of rooms with antique decor nestled in the heart of a bustling Main street. Short walks to great food, shopping and cultural events. All the positives of a bed and breakfast with the pluses of a larger hotel!

This is definitely the place to stay in Cedar Falls. The hotel is in the perfect location, right in the middle of a vibrant downtown. There are many shops, boutiques, restaurants, and bars. What a fun area!!! The hotel is divided into two buildings. One is modern and the other is historic. We stayed in the modern room. It was...

Daughter-in-law and I enjoyed our first night's stay of our 5 day Iowa road trip at the Blackhawk. What a charming hotel. Our suite was just what we needed after a long day of traveling. Everything was just lovely right down to our complimentary terry cloth robes for after a nice shower. Close to many eating establishments, nice shopping also....

Interesting hotel close ("walkable") to bars, shops, and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay, despite the smokers just outside our first-floor window (room 105 of historic hotel) waking us just after midnight. They were at what appeared to be a designated smoking spot (bench and one of those just-for-cigarettes type ashtrays/butt containers.) This placed them about 10 feet from our window....

Thanks for your review. We do have an issue as you mentioned with the first-floor rooms that are adjacent to the back door entry. We try to monitor this area but it is difficult as the bar patrons tend to use this space as their smoking area. We will continue to work on this problem. If you do return, request...

What a great experience! For some background, I'm a pilot flying aerial survey, I spend 10+ hours in the air during the day, and am looking for an easy place with access to food and a good bed, all this was accomplished at the BH. Called around 5 pm and asked for any available rooms, I got the standard rate...
