I’m an honors member and travel extensively. I like to choose Hampton because of consistency and quality. This met neither of the benchmarks for me.
Recently refurbished rooms are not fabulous. The tile bathroom floors have grout chunks on the tile and I actually cut...More
The staff member who checked us was friendly and very funny. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped through the doors to the moment we left. All the staff treated us with respect and as valued customers. The rooms were clean and bed, very...More

Stayed at the Hampton Inn Iowa City for a business trip. Founf the staff to be very friendly with the room very clean and quiet. Some construction occurring at the hotel but never really knew it was happening. Located next to restaurant that was also...More
We were not bothered at all by the renovations. The hotel is close to I-80 but is siituated so the traffic noise is not too bad. Nice size room, and the bathroom had plenty of space for our stuff. The staff at the front desk...More
While this location appears to be nice, don't let them place you in a construction zone. The second floor was under renovation (see pictures) and the stench of chemicals was horrible. By 4:00 AM my eyes were burning, my throat was sore and I couldn't...More

I would not stay at this hotel as there are many other nice hotels right down the road and very convenient to great restaurants. I stayed here and it was by far below Hampton Inn standards. Even with the possibility of their renovations being done and the experience I had with the rooms and the management I would never recommend this hotel... and definitely the bed bugs were the biggest issue! The Marriott a few blocks away is definitely a better pick for staff friendliness and rooms and the convenience of walking to great restaurants. I would advise calling the Iowa state Health Dept and look into their records if you would like to see further details in this hotel as I did. You will be surprised.
