Homewood suites is the most excellent Hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff is so outstanding. Stayed here for 2 weeks and the staff handled my complaint about baseball teams that stay here. These baseball teams were so destructive, running down halls, knocking on guest doors and coaches not doing anything when I asked them to stop. Homewood Suites staff were very concerned for their guests and took care of these baseball teams causing problems with other guests. This place truly cares for their guests who stay for longer periods of time.
The staff made clear that they only want business people at this hotel. Our baseball group was not wanted. There are so many teams that come to this area on the weekends, they should avoid this place like the plague. Overall, they were just hostile to the families. Probably a great place if you are a business traveler.
Its a nice looking hotel but my experience was not good. Staff is unwelcoming. The manager (Jill i think) is in over her depth. I hope they can improve, otherwise, there are several other Hiltons in the area. A lot of hotels are struggling with service because of Covid, but this place i put in the bottom 10% of all the hotels I've stayed at the past year.
My friend and I stayed here one night. We were both nervous traveling during the pandemic. But this hotel was very clean. The rooms had a strip on the doors indicating they were cleaned and sanitized. Even the tv remote had a band around it. They had a hot breakfast, served rather than self serve and it was good. Coffee was available self serve. Having traveled quite a bit for work I consider myself familiar with hotels. I would recommend this one.
We were traveling across country, and unexpectedly were delayed. The stop in Davenport was okay. A couple of items I would consider working on are: 1. Have housekeeping check the room and assure that it is cleaned. My staff always cleaned, then head of housekeeping did a walk through. The hand wipes provided were dried out. This created doubt for us over the true cleanliness of the room. 2. Breakfast is an interesting bag of prepackaged sugary products. I’m sure there is a better approach to this. I will preface my comments by saying that if the property did not offer anything before the covid outbreak then what they are offering now as a token is okay. I don’t know the covid restrictions in IA, but there was a wedding party present at the property. The positives: Front office was nice and easy to work with. No complaints over the service Washing machines-a plus! Pet friendly Easy parking …
