The views are great. Across the river from the bluffs with high limestone walls. The bathrooms are rugged and the showers coin operated. You're pretty much on your own getting your boat back on shore. Has a bar and grill and some items to purchase like soda and water.

Hidden in the hills of NE Iowa you'll find Randy's a little gem for those who love to paddle. It might be hard to find the first time but that's part of the beauty of the place. Difficult places to find tend to keep 'difficult' people away. Don't be in a hurry the staff here moves at their own pace...

In the middle of nowhere. If you find yourself here I suggest you go somewhere else. Anywhere! Not a big fan of this place. Wouldn't recommend. Hamburger was good. Cheese curds had no taste. Wings were tiny and nothing but salt and crunch. This place does not take credit cards! But the will be happy to gouge you with their...

We have been going to Randy's the last seven years and we bring 15 to 20 people. We usually canoe but this year decided to take our own tubes. We inquired about shuttle service just for a single person and Ron said that Randy despises tubers, right after we just said we were going to try tubing. On day 2...

This campground is a good alternative to Pulpit Rock Campground. Since this campground is a bit more secluded you don't have the traffic noise that you'll have in town. Plus, the campsites are more spacious compared to Pulpit Rock where they really cram you in. Randy's has a bar/restaurant onsite which came in handy after seven hours of kayaking when...

I have been staying at Randys camp for 15 years. They are always very friendly and provide great service for a good price. The previous review should have read the Rules of the Camground. Pretty simple actually. He broke the rules and now he is upset that he got caught breaking them. Like I said , wonderful campground and services.

LaborDay weekend had a great kayaking weekend on the Upper Iowa River. Rent canoes or a kayak and see the bluffs. So cool and relaxing.First come first serve campgrounds. Electric hook up and primitive. Many campgrounds around the area so check them out also.

The staff here is friendly and funny..... Don't expect anything fancy, for sure! We stopped for a beverage and snack after canoeing. Limited menu, but the drinks were cold (in plastic cups) and the chips, fries and cheese curds were good! One stall bathrooms and the shared sink is outside. I think there were two pool tables, as I recall.

Made famous over the years for great camping along the Upper Iowa River. We locals know you can get great fresh food and drinks there. I've had several group gatherings from car tours to high school reunions there. Randy and his wife run a great place and are always friendly.

We camp in Decorah once a year for an annual canoe trip and used to camp at Randy's. I don't organize the trip so I don't know all the past details, but our organizer stopped booking us there because the owner said our generator was too noisy and several other small interactions where the owner was cross with our group....
