My daughter and I were traveling across the country to take her back to college. We wanted to explore a bit of history in Iowa that we hadn't ever experienced. Classmates had recommended "The Amana Colonies", and it didn't disappoint. We really enjoyed the bucolic farming ambiance of the area, the "Americana" of the ice cream social that was about...

My family of four stayed in a two-room suite last summer and had a very comfortable stay. There are nice touches like homemade shampoo and shower gel and the rooms are large and homey. The breakfast is delicious! We enjoyed a walk around the immediate vicinity before heading to main downtown Amana. My only wish would be for queen beds...

I am glad you had a very comfortable stay at Zuber;s. Thank you for your comments. They are much appreciated. I would say that all of rooms except for one room have queen or king size beds. There is also only one suite in the hotel and that does have two queen beds, one in each room. The only room...

My friend and I spent three nights here in October. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. It was wonderful. The beds were great, the furniture was comfortable, and affordable. We had a great place to relax after being busy all day. We started each day off with their wonderful home made breakfast buffets. It had anything you wanted. Will...

From the moment we walked in we enjoyed a great stay! We enjoyed the bed and breakfast feel. ..fresh treats to help ourselves to in the cozy family room and pleasant conversation with our hostess. The room was small, but very neat and clean and VERY quiet and relaxing. Breakfast in the morning was delicious! I can see how this...

We were here over the weekend. Got in Friday ahead of first winter storm, stayed until Sunday. Have probably stayed here 5 times with new ownership. Improvements have been made to rooms over time and always clean and well kept. We couldn't stay for breakfast Sunday. Saturday's was a little sparse. Egg casserole was just about gone 25 minutes into...

What a cozy and inviting place to stay on a dark and stormy night. Arrived late in a gale force wind. Immediately upon stepping inside, my sister and I felt warm and relaxed. We thought it would take a bit of time to get the room heated up, but it was already toasty when we opened the door. The beds...

Great experience, very unique rooms, free breakfast and coffee in the morning, very friendly people. We arrived from a game at 1am and we were given a coded locked number to get inside and keys were sitting in an envelope waiting for us. This would be a great stay for families and couples, and even friends after a big Iowa...

Zuber's is half hotel/half bed and breakfast. There are 15 themed rooms (we were in "A Taste of Amana"). Room was clean and bed very comfortable. The decor of the entire place is tasteful and lots of fun to look at. Zuber's is in Homestead, one of the Amana Colonies. It is a quick drive into the largest one, Amana,...

We were here for a family reunion, and the family didn't give us a choice of where to stay.
