Is this Heaven? No, it must be Iowa! We recently stayed at Cornerstone Suites. It is top notch! The suites are beautiful, clean and affordable. The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. I heartily recommend Cornerstone Suites to anyone in the area in need of a hotel stay. PS: Each room is decorated with an artist theme. See if you...

We came to Lake City so that my son could attend prom, but he forgot the corsage! The owners were so helpful and even drove me 25 minutes to obtain a new corsage. I was amazed at their helpfulness and generosity. The room was beautiful, sparkling clean, with beautiful furniture. The rates were reasonable and I enjoyed my time in...

We stayed overnight at Cornerstone while in town for a volleyball tournament and stayed in the Vermeer Suite. Beautiful room, beautiful bathroom, roomy, shower was wonderful, including the toiletries offered, had everything we could need, except a comfy bed. :( The beds were quite firm and seemed low quality compared to everything else about the establishment.....very disappointing. However, given how...

Best $75 I've ever spent on a room! We stayed in the Grant Wood room, (a famous Iowa painter), and loved it. Upon arrival Judy welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. The room had a flat screen TV with access to cable, a nice queen size bed, and the bathroom was clean and refreshing in the...

In small town Iowa there is a first-class hotel! The Cornerstone Suites, a cross between a B&B, a hostel, and the idea of a main street hotel, are a refreshing surprise in staying at a non-chain hotel. In a historic building, the 6 or so rooms are so meticulously appointed, from bedding to bathroom furnishings, that you'd think you're staying...

My friend has a daughter in a care facility in Lake City, IA. She's been to Lake City and always stayed at the Super 8 or other accommodation in Carroll, IA, nearby. She didn't realize this hotel was in town. We found out about it through Trip Adviser. The room (suite) we stayed in was very spacious. We were impressed!!...

When traveling cross country, we use interstates mostly, but like to get off to see more of the country and Lake City, Iowa was a great stop! I would highly recommend staying at the Cornerstone Suites. Rooms are large and very comfortable and the owners are very accommodating. We stayed at a Super 8 a week later in Iowa and...

There are not many hotels where I can say I have stayed in 2/3 of the rooms, but I can truthfully say that here. Easier when there are three rooms! This time I stayed in the "Vermeer" suite, with pictures of the artist and other reminders in the room. It is HUGE, and the only room that is on street...

We rented all the rooms at the Cornerstone for a family gathering. The rooms and suites were perfect and wonderfully done. The furniture and wood work were amazing. In addition to the awesome lodging the town of Lake City was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning to Cornerstone Suites when in the area.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Cornerstone Suite for 4 nights over the July 4th weekend as I was visiting family. The suites are so nice and meticulously cared for. The trim, wood work and furniture are just amazing. I stayed with my two kids in the larger of the suites and it was the perfect space for...
