Room 300 (whirlpool suite) was nice and the windows overlooked the park. The room was very clean and the imperfections from being such a historical building were even gorgeous. I think Frank Loyd Wright would be proud. The whirlpool is made more for one and a half people, but still relaxing. The building itself was unique with lots of sitting...

A beautiful hotel authentically restored. You felt like you were staying in a museum where you felt comfortable. The members of Wright on the Park board truly had a vision for the future when they began the project. The residents of Mason City and FLW fans everywhere owe them a debt of gratitude. The restaurant was wonderful too!! The Brick...

Architectural restoration is a tricky and incredibly expensive business, and the return of this unique property to a destination worthy of a special trip is astonishing. The only standing Frank Lloyd Wright designed hotel in the world, it is a treasure not to be missed. That ordinary people like me can go visit and stay in a room we can...

Back in November my mom and I stayed here for a night because we love FLW architecture. We couldn't have had a better time! They did such a wonderful job restoring this hotel, it's absolutely beautiful. We geek out over historical places like this and we cannot wait to come back. Cozy rooms with comfy beds, friendly staff, and a...

This is a very nice hotel and it lives up to the expectations. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel. Perfect size to be relaxed and feel like you are at a bed and breakfast, but also have all the amenities of a full service hotel. And all that in a beautiful package. We will definitely return.

Beautiful hotel; we so enjoyed our stay! Since it was so cold outside it was wonderful to utilize the Ladies Parlor for our family Christmas gathering, then walk down stairs to the grill for supper and drinks at the bar afterwards. One stop for a very enjoyable family gathering and such an unique and beautiful facility. Staff is wonderful and...

What a great place and it's a Midwest mecca for FL Wright fans from anywhere in the world. Just simply marvelous for saving and reconstructing a piece of one of America's geniuses' work. We were simply astounded by the thought and craftsmanship and quality of how this place was been preserved while making it work not as a museum but...

I appreciate the history behind the original building, and the efforts of the City of Mason City and Wright on the Park to bring this hotel back to it's splendor. The simple lines of a Frank Lloyd Wright design are still impressive to take in. The only downside of this stay was the slow service for breakfast one day.

Mason City did an incredible job saving and restoring the Park Inn. We are so glad to have made the trip to stay there (and tour other Prairie School buildings in town). Our room was exceptionally comfortable ~ loved the effort that went into creating things like the headboards and bedside lights, but also that 21st century lighting and air...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Historic Park Inn Hotel, together with City National Bank, of Mason City Iowa were designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright as a dual purpose building and completed in 1910. The design greatly influenced architecture in Europe and is as striking today as it ever was. The Park Inn Hotel is the last Wright designed hotel in the world, and has undergone a nearly 20 million renovation; the restoration of the distinctive brick and terra-cotta façade as well as art glass windows has restored the Prairie School building to a functional hotel. The interior, while renovated into a contemporary hotel, has public areas and guest rooms restored as closely to Wright's design as possible. Art glass and much else designed by Wright remains. Public area furnishings are period-style and include reproduction Robie House Lights, reproductions of the Mercury statues Richard Bock and Wright designed for the bank, and reproductions of the barrel chairs Wright designed for the bank directors' room. We invite you to come and stay with us in the center of the many area attractions Mason City has to offer. ... more   less
