First, the most important part of the review: This place is fabulous. My wife and I recently made an impromptu 2-night stopover in Winterset during a recent road trip, and stumbled across this bed and breakfast primarily because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this and other travel sites. And, all of those reviews are spot on. Steve and Nancy...

This was a wonderful place to stay. So relaxing and homey. Comfortable common areas. Large room with huge private bath. Steve is a great cook! If you leave hungry it's your own fault. We highly recommend.

The Heavenly Habitat provides a very relaxing retreat. The rooms are comfortable, clean, quiet and decorated beautifully. The breakfasts are amazing! Winterset is a beautiful little town with much to see including the John Wayne museum and the bridges of Madison County. Topping it off with a wonderful stay at this B & B made for a great get away.

Steve & Nancy were wonderful hosts, and served a great breakfast each of our two night stay. The converted old church is done beautifully and very well maintained. Don't be frightened by it formally be a church, you can hardly tell other than some selective pieces saved to keep some history alive on the property. The location couldn't be better...

Lovely relaxing overnight in Winterset hosted by Steve and Nancy. Very warm and welcoming rooms and our hosts made great company at breakfast. Spent nearly 2 hours chatting and sharing stories. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who asked. Hope to be back soon!
