Fantastic place to stay on the rail trail. Beautiful historic country house, peaceful outdoor farm setting The $25 bbq is a must. BBQ undersells it - its a home cooked feast. The steaks were delicious and huge. Sublime potatoes, home made salad dressing and salads. Lovely desert Pete was a warm, generous and interesting host. Great communication before hand and...

We liked all the places on the rail trail, but Peter's farm, Tregonning Cottage was best! Beautiful old farm building, set on a stunning farm. Peter makes transport available from where you want to finish your ride (it's not right on the trail) and provides at a very reasonable cost a stunning BBQ dinner in the evening with other guests....

Spent one night at Peter's and wish we could have stayed longer. Peter is an excellent and friendly host and puts on a pretty good BBQ to boot. The accommodation is rustic but very comfortable with shared facilities with rooms either in the main house or nearby cabins. Scenery is idyllic and the only noise is from sheep in nearby...

Thank you Peter and Keiko for a warm and accommodating welcome to your beautiful, quaint and comfortable farm stay homestead. This historic lodging overlooking magnificent scenery and amidst a working sheep farm is amazing. Peter was a generous host who cooked a delicious BBQ, provided an interesting commentary on the history of the homestead and spent time to make us...

Authentic NZ farm hospitality. Peter prepared a generous and delicious dinner - salads, home made bread, lots of excellently BBQ'ed meat and great company. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Great local knowledge tips from Peter. Thank you Peter for a great stay and for the tip about the water race cycling track behind Naseby which was my favourite cycling track on...

Stayed at Peter's on our last night on the Rail Trail, and it was perfect. Peter has such a lovely attachment to the house, property and area, you can't help but be taken in. The house has so much charm and Peters wit and warmth compliment it beautifully. Comfy beds, gorgeous setting, lovely continental breakfast and a super amicable host....

This place is a haven! Charming quaint farm house lost in the fields. Comfortable beds, all with electric blankets. Nice living room with fireplace. Kitchen with all appliances, great breakfast with fresh home made bread! We took the option of bbq at Peters and were not disappointed! Meat was amazing! Worst a visit!

Last night on the Rail Trail and all four families were at Peter's Farm - a ramshackle place with character in spades. Perfectly comfortable for big groups and Peter's BBQ is a great way to enjoy a fantastic location. Clearly Peter has the routine nailed with plenty of wholesome food to fee hungry cyclists. It can be a bit rough...

Peter has this one sorted! With the issues surrounding the Hyde Hotel, Peter provides a free car to pick up from Hyde so that guests may make use of his wonderful farm based accommodation in Waipiata. We stayed in the 1882 Tregonning Cottage which was more than comfortable and well appointed. Peter's famous barbecue and dessert lived up to the...

We stayed one night at Pete's Farm over Easter, with another couple, while biking the Rail Trail. The original, rustic Farm House has four bedrooms and there are two separate cabins, all sharing two showers and three toilets.. There were 8 of us staying overnight and no queues for the bathrooms. Our room was warm, clean and there was quality...
