We stayed here on our way home and basically wanted a safe, clean, comfortable, affordable place to sleep before finishing our trip the next day. It did deliver in that regard. We were in a renovated room and appreciate that not everything can be redone or replaced simultaneously. (We hope at some point the tub is replaced or resurfaced.) Some positives: friendly lady checked us in, comfortable bed, lots of channels on large TV, quiet. There were about 7 other occupied rooms, and we didn't hear a peep from anyone. One concern which I hope management will address (I would've shared this with them personally but no one was in lobby when we left): the maid was hovering outside our door as we loaded our car to leave obviously waiting for us to vacate so she could clean the room. In all our travels, we have never experienced this. We were leaving at least an hour before check-out time. It was cold out, and she didn't speak English so I had to somehow convey to her to give us about 5 minutes...and there she stood. I spotted an open door just yards away. I have no idea why she didn't just go in there for a few minutes (she was playing on her phone while she waited). The second we got in the car she was in the room ripping the sheets off. Very off-putting.

The price is remarkably inexpensive. When we checked in, the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful with recommendations of places to visit for drinks, dining, and sight-seeing. He also provided great instructions about the eccentricities of the TV and EVAC unit. Room was spacious and spotless. Had a fridge and microwave, comfy easy chair, desk, comfortable bed - all the amenities. With the good instructions we'd been given we did get the TV to cooperate. The EVAC unit was another story. It was above a cabinet that contained a hot water heater and there was no remote control for it, so one had to climb up using the shelf under the sink and the luggage rack to access the controls, unless one was 7' tall. (As an aside, I should say that the young man at the front desk said he would be happy to assist if we needed anything). The unit itself was very noisy and seemed to run way too often. Our second night, I shut it off and the room was comfortable, but that may not be an option if weather is very hot or cold. The room was remarkably quiet, in spite of the fact that the motel seemed to be full and essentially shared a parking area with the Pizza Hut next door. We were there two nights and the room was not serviced, presumably because of COVID-19 concerns.

The price was great! Easy access. Clean and comfortable with friendly service. This was obviously an older, locally owned hotel. We liked the quaint charm of this city and the hotel added to that. The weather was beautiful when we arrived so left the door open to the outside to freshen up the room. That night s rare. The breakfast is continental which was fine since we left before it began. Caseys is across the street for fuel and food. I could walk to Bethany College from here and felt safe.

If you need a place to stay for the night in the vicinity of Salinas—and you’re heading south (or even if you’re not) stop here. The rooms are in the process of being updated—I had an updated room and it was quiet, clean comfort and well appointed (fridge, microwave cool led reading lights bedside). The innkeeper is delightful—spend soMe time getting to know her while you enjoy a bite of breakfast and swing on the cool swing in the lobby.

Linds orb is a real small tie with a downtown (restaurants, hardware store, coffee shop, bakery) not just a Dollar General (I like most Kansas towns) gas is inexpensive and you are near the highway

First of all, this is an older family-owned motel, not a corporate hotel. Given that, you’ll find smaller rooms and basic amenities only. However, our experience was excellent. From check-in by the nice young man filling in for his mom while she was on vacation, to the very reasonable price, to the pleasantly surprising freshness of our room. It was clean and appeared to be freshly painted. The bedding smelled fresh and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. The shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. There was no breakfast, but we didn’t expect it at the low cost of the room. Instead, we visited a local coffee shop which did not disappoint. We loved Lindsborg and hope to visit again. When we do, we’ll head for the Viking for overnight.

This family owned motel, is a great find.
I have been in the area for 2 months on business. This family and motel made my stay wonderful.
The motel is spotless. The beds are good, and the decor warm and comfortable.
This front door access motel, is typical of the old Route 66 motels.
Located, conveniently off the interstate, it is quite and safe. I never once felt uncomfortable walking my dog after dark.
Another selling point is safety during this pandemic. No interior hallways, where you have to pass unmasked guests.
The grounds are manicured and there is a wonderful garden, that is solar lit at night.
You can see the love that has gone into this small business.
A lot to see in town and close to restaurants.
Thank you for a great stay.

This is an older hotel that has been completely renovated: from the carpets to the shower to even the sinks, faucets and toilets. The owner, Cindy, is very friendly. The area is great as you can walk to the college, Subway and Pizza Hut are next door, etc. Small town USA where you feel safe and appreciated.

I stayed here for a month on a job. The motel is one of those classic drive up to your door kinds. The beds were great. Just the right firmness. And the pillows were great also. Ram and Attila were gracious hosts and a pleasure to visit with. Highly recommended.

The motel is four miles off I-135 in the Swedish community of Lindsborg. It is run, not by Swedes, but by friendly Asians who are working hard to maintain a good mom/pop motel. They are succeeding; it is clean, quiet, and the beds are very comfortable. A real bargain for $59.95 a night. Staying at the Viking is a much more pleasant experience than at the noisy strip development motels that line the Salina corridor. Lindsborg is charming.
