Detailed Reviews
A fair review of this campground separates the facility from the experience.
Two pools and hot tubs means there's always room no matter how busy they get. There weren't many tables/seating around the pools but we never had trouble finding somewhere to put our stuff. Even if they were all occupied a few minutes was the longest we waited for a table. The canteen was well stocked and reasonably priced. The food they sold was basic but decent and, again, reasonably priced. The staff was friendly but seemed to have their hands full running the day to day so occasionally the bathrooms would need attention on a busy day but seemed to get sufficient attention. The sites were large and well maintained.
The only complaint I could possibly offer is about the other campers. As a private campground it was nice to be able to carry my drink with me as I walked around the campground. Many people, myself included, enjoyed a beverage near or even in the pool. The only problem is that as the day progressed the number of day drunks rose very quickly. Add on to that the fact that the seasonal campers got around in golf carts the roads got to be a bit sketchy with drunk drivers zipping around constantly on the roads. Noise wasn't a big problem but one camper in particular seemed to be blasting the same Eminem song every time he zipped by our site. Drunk parents also meant that there were gangs of unsupervised kids wandering around the campground and in the pool.
We had a fun trip. In the end that's all that matters

We booked for 5 days and left on the 2nd day. Staff not interested in being friendly or helpful. Lots of seasonal campers driving their golf carts. Not friendly. Park could use a refresh, lots if standing water. No contact from management about why we left early, I do not reccomend.

We stayed in one of the motel rooms at Rubber Ducky Resort in 2012. This place had come highly recommended to us by friends we knew and so we thought we would really enjoy it for our family vacation. Our first impression was less than favourable as the management was not pleasant or remotely friendly upon our arrival. When customers are spending several hundred dollars in an establishment, one would think they would be greeted warmly by staff. It felt like the people operating the place were very unhappy and that we were an imposition to them.
The rec centre, restaurant, store (all combined) was filthy and really disorganized. I am not sure how the health inspector passes their restaurant during an inspection.
Behind the main counter, the shelves were piled with books, folders and other items in plain view of anyone. This mess really needs to be organized since this is one of the first things that customers see when they arrive.
The arcade is open all night but has 5 or 6 games only and was a real disappointment.
The outdoor sitting area for movies etc. was also a mess with chairs strewn about and personal items left lying all over the ground and the picnic tables. This area needed to be organized as well since this is in plain view of everyone staying there.
Once we had checked in, we went to our room. The room was filthy and had a very strong odour of disinfectant. The countertop was covered in dead bugs and the floors had more bug carcasses all over them. The taps and faucets in our room were also filthy and had obviously not been cleaned in a very long time. I spent several hours cleaning this room upon our arrival since I was afraid to say anything to the very unpleasant staff. At one point I asked if a cot was available for our family since there was not enough space for all of us to sleep. I was told there were none...no apology or explanation of any kind. We were there for several nights and I know that several families left during our stay yet we did not receive a follow up call to let us know if there were cots available after our first night.
The continental breakfast which was advertised online was ok (the waffles were delicious). I had to ask when or if was being served since that information was not provided at check-in.
The grounds were not as tidy as one would have hoped. Several times I picked up garbage lying in common areas that was not being picked up by staff.
The pools and public hot tubs were clean and seemed to be well maintained.
It did look like the campsites were kept clean and were well tended for the most part.
The place is really geared towards younger families and really does not appeal to teenagers or older families at all.
We will not be going back again.

We had a 4 day visit in early August. They advised us of a temporary boil water advisory so we brought water from home. We had 2 grandchildren and our son with us for 2 nights and another grandson for the last 2 nights. There were no problems as we just handed in a wristband to exchange for a new one. Also we were able to set up a tent and dining tent on our site in addition to our trailer.
The facilities are clean. Showers are hot and free. The main building is open 24 hours.
We found all the staff friendly. The facilities were open long hours. The pools were heated but were not hot, just right for a hot day. They were never overly busy. We found the minigolf challenging. The golf course is 5 holes and the tee boxes for holes 1 and 2 aren't clearly marked. The green on hole one had lots of goose poop.
The daily schedules weren't always up to date and regularly available. The train is a number of carts pulled by a tractor and it runs irregularly. We missed it one day.
If you want to fish bring your own bait as none is available on site.
The petting zoo was fun for the kids.
There are 3 playgrounds but the best one is at the far end of the campground. There are several short trails in the park.
The grandkids enjoyed the bumper boats. It is over $6 per person for a 6 minute ride, but it was fun and we all got soaked from the spray guns on the boats. The time allowed was good.
They do have evening movies in the hall but it is not dark enough in there and the movies are hard to see.
The only food we tried were the fries and ice cream. The fries are very good and the quantities huge.
We would be willing to come back here.

We came here recently for a family reunion. Prior to reserving we had asked if noise was going to be an issue as we were a large group. Rubber Ducky told us that it wouldn't be a problem. Some of us had RV's, Tents, Pop up campers and others stayed in the 4 motel's. We stayed in the motel as we don't own a camper and have small children. We paid just over $200 for 2 nights. You would think that for $90 per night at a motel that it would be somewhat decent right? Were we wrong!! If this hadn't been for our reunion, we would have asked for a refund and packed up and left.
As soon as we walked up to our room, the outside of it had a thousand dead bugs coated on the outside of the siding and all over our windows. Our room was across from the rec building and had 2 spot lights directed at our door. This was pretty dumb as at night, all of the bugs are attracted to the door and window. We stepped into the motel to find the following: it smelled very musty, moldy, and a strong stench of well water. There were dead moths and black flies all over the window sill, kitchen counter top and floor. The floor had rocks, old gum stuck in the mat, food crumbs everywhere and it looked like there were old dried up spills. The windows were filthy on the inside and outside, looked like someone streaked butter all over them and there were dead bug guts. There was thick dust everywhere inside. The ceiling had streaks of dead blood from flies. The nick nacks on the walls had tons of dust, the ceiling fan had thick dust on the blades and spider webs hanging everywhere. There were 2 disgusting fly swatter's with leftover bug guts hanging right beside the kitchen table. The comforter on the bed had holes all over and had disinegrated so there were pieces of it everywhere. I lifted the comforter and ran my hand underneath the sheets to feel a bunch of crumbs and hair. The bed had not been changed from the last people sleeping in it. One pillow had old stains on it and stunk. The bathtub had a black ring around it. The plug in the bathroom did not work. The air conditioner was covered with thick black dust over the fan, the inside of the coffee maker had things growing in it, the inside of the microwave was not clean either. The room had not been cleaned. You would think management would have opened the windows to air them out and clean them before we had all arrived there? After speaking with the other family members that stayed in the other rooms, theirs too had been filthy but ours was the worst. My 14 month old daughter kept trying to pick up the old gum stuck to the rug and the bugs and crumbs on the floor into her mouth. I walked to the office and told the lady who I believe was management and told her about the filth. She didn't say anything. I asked for cleaner, a dish rag and a rag so I could clean. She said she would send someone to the room with it. I spent 45 min. trying to clean the place and realized that it was far more dirty than I expected. This was so stressful as we just wanted to unpack our stuff and take the kids to the pool. My husband had to take my son to the pool and my mom had to occupy my daughter so I could stay and clean. After being pretty disgusted, I decided I wasn't going to clean any further. I had to go back to the office and tell them that the room was dirty. She asked me if I wanted someone to clean it like I was being a burden. I was expecting an appology but nothing. A girl came by to clean the room and it took her an hour. We couldn't even use the room as the cleaner she was using was so strong, I had to ask her to vacuum and the thing when started sounded like it was going to explode it was so loud. I had to wait 2 hrs from the time we checked in to use the room. Management did not offer any kind of compensation or an appology. The staff in the office are not friendly at all, they have no customer service, they don't care.
The beds in the motel were super hard and the futons were even worse. The blinds in our room were falling apart and filthy. They were so beat up that when the sun came up it was super bright in the room and was beaming right on my family that slept in the futon. At night, the spot light from the rec centre was beaming right in our room too. My grandma who is 87 was supposed to sleep on a cot that they paid extra for. There was a big broken metal spring that had popped out right where her leg would lay and they expected someone to sleep on that?
Whatever you do, don't eat at the restaurant either. The display table they have when you walk in has old vintage nick nacks covered in a ton of dust and dead bugs in it. The place is so run down and filthy, why would anyone want to eat there?
Our 2nd night there, we had a video presentation of our family and had projected it on one of our kitchen tents and we all gathered around to watch it. We had managment circle us a thousand times in his golf cart with his lights in our faces. Later that night, he came by again except this time he had told us to shut it down, he was very rude to us. We were all just talking to one another and the music was low. We asked the campers beside us if we were too noisy and they said we weren't and that this guy has been known to do this a lot. Why would they put the campsites so close together anyway? They are all out in the open too.
The hot tub that one of us had rented for the weekend at our campsite stopped working for the night and it cost $200 to rent this for 2 nights. The hot tub that the people in the motel could use wasn't working either.
Out of approx 50 of us that stayed there, no one had anything positive to say about this place. Everyone had a thousand and one complaints and you could not pay me to stay there again. This place is terrible, do not waist your money here! They call this place a resort?????

Response from RubberDuckyResort, Front Office Manager at Rubber Ducky Resort and Campground
Responded Aug 21, 2012
Rubber Ducky Resort Management received numerous noise complaints and had various issues arising throughout the weekend from this family's refusal to respect quiet time and to respect the camper's around them. Management was not made aware of any problems with the rental hot tub. In fact during the late hours of Saturday night when they were asked to quiet down they were still using the hot tub. The RCMP were ultimately called in the deal with this situation. Management was willing to work with the family to accommodate the group but it was explained prior to booking that the noise needed to be kept to a minimum and quiet times did still need to be respected.

I must share our experience about our family reunion as well. I would never stay at Rubbery Ducky Resort again. The bush behind our "wide open" campsite was littered with garbage. There was actually an large pice of eves troughing and parts from a refridgerator laying right behind our campsite. When we booked our sites at the resort for our family reunion, we were spread out over the campground and not together. We were told that quiet noise would not be an issue. As far as the owner contacting the RCMP.....I was right across from this "loud" group in the hot tub and I couldn't hear them at all. We did check with our neighbouring campers and told them that if it became too loud that they should please let us know. No one said a thing, yet the owner shows up at the hot tub with his arms crossed, huffing and puffing mad and just stood there staring at the people in the tub. When they said hi to him, he blew up then called the RCMP. I hear that this is a common occurance with this owner. Great place to bring kids if you want to spend time in the pool, but that is about it. The mini-golf is falling apart and the clubhouse/store is filthy.

When I booked our family "resort vacation" ( lol) I googled it bc I had heard of it before, the website makes it sound so great shows pictures and video of a cute little indoor play area boasts about its bumper boats and all it's amenities. Ok..... So when we got there i immediately thought ok this is it? I couldn't find the camp site and the women who was less then happy to do anything but take my money seemed unhappy or possibly unable to smile. While I was waiting to check in at the um restaurant/ "arcade"(?) / really filthy old showers / washrooms I was turned off already wishing I wasn't the one who dragged my family out to this place. The campsite sucked there was no shade no privacy and across the road there was a large group of less then friendly peeps staring at us making us very uncomfortable and we were uneasy to leave the site hoping nothing would get stolen. The pools are the best part of the place bc they seem clean but they are still on the small side. There was a valentine day dance ? It was July for one and the only decoration was an old birds nest hanging from fishing line ? Haha. The worst thing I think was the bumper boats I was actually astonished that a group of individuals actually went in them bc u squirt water at each other and the water that these things are in... Stinks is full of algae it looks like they put something in the water to turn it blue but it has green stinky stuff floating on it and I wouldn't put my pinky toe in that! our kids wanted to go in but we had to tell them they weren't allowed for fear of them catching something! There were a few ducks in that water on the other side in some more stinky swamp water. overall our stay was ok but that's cuz we just made the best of it and drove around our golf Cart kind of laughing about it what else could we do we drove 2 hours to get there I don't think we will go back unless they do some major cleanup and change to this place!

Response from RubberDuckyResort, General Manager at Rubber Ducky Resort and Campground
Responded Jul 15, 2013
It is unfortunate that your stay started off on the wrong foot with when you had problems with the campground map. And also the miscommunication when the two staff members attempted to assist you, but were unable to located you until you returned to the office. I would question your accusation of the people in the other site being 'thieves' as they have camped here in the past and we have had no issues. In the future if you would like a better selection of campsites to choose from. I would recommend booking in advance.

We stayed in one of the bed and breakfast rooms at this campground for a few days in August, 2010, and we were very disappointed. We have family in the area and stayed at this campground as it was in a convenient location for visiting. However, it was a very bad experience from beginning to end. We arrived late on a Friday night to very rowdy drunk people blocking the entrance to the restaurant/check-in area. As a 30-something female entering the restaurant to check in, there were several inappropriate comments and gestures made and yelled at me by several gentlemen by the door - probably not the best first impression desired to be greeted on arriving guests. My family (including 2 young children) was watching and waiting in the car while this was going on - not a great start. Upon check-in, and throughout our stay, we found the staff very unfriendly and they acted as if we were an inconvenience to them. The bed and breakfast room we checked into was very dirty with layers of dust on the tv and radiator, stains on the bedding, pet hair all over the futon bed, dust bunnies in the corners, and a very strong smell of mold coming from the bathroom. Needless to say, we were ready to turn around and leave, but we tried to make the best of it and stick it out as we knew we wouldn't be spending much time in the room during our stay in the area. We contemplated buying a lamp for the room the next day as the lighting was so bad we couldn't read a book or a newspaper. We went to the restaurant for breakfast the next morning, and the restaurant, like our room, was very dirty - it didn't appear as if the tables had been wiped off from the night before, and there were flies everywhere. They have a "help yourself" complimentary breakfast which consists of toast, waffles or cereal which is a good concept, but the table and everything surrounding the food was very dirty and there was a fly floating around in the juice. We grabbed a few pieces of toast, and as we were eating, we were constantly greeted by grungy people walking through the restaurant in their pajamas to use the shower area which is at the back of the restaurant. It seemed very unsanitary and strange - why wouldn't there be a separate entrace for the shower area? We left the resort early after breakfast and spent the the remainder of the day at our relatives' place. When we returned to the resort at the end of the day, we were greeted by another rowdy scene, several police cars and a few individuals being led out in handcuffs in full view of our young children. We were flabergasted by this scene. Not quite the family-atmosphere one would expect at a family campground. On a positive, the resort itself really has a lot of potential - there is a pool, a duck pond, a mini golf course and a small recreation area at the back of the restaurant for kids to use, but this place is crying out for some love and attention and is poorly maintained. We have stayed at other bed and breakfasts in the past for a much lower cost, and the rooms have been wonderful - very clean and cozy. This place is unlike any bed and breakfast I've stayed at before. For the experience we had, we should have paid a quarter of the price of what they charge. Perhaps if a person stayed in their own camper on this resort away from the main restaurant area, it would be a better experience. For people without children, the party atmosphere might be okay. But for a family with young children, I'm not so sure this is the place for you. Unfortunately, we would never stay here again.

This is my first time leaving a review on any web site I be leave word of mouth is the best way to let people know the good the bad and just the worst.
I first heard about the rubber ducky resort from some good friends who had be off and on visitors and did a year or two seasons,so we packed up from winnipeg and headed to this country placed resort that bases there resort on a friendly family resort atmosphere.
Well I can personally tell you I would have more fun in a walmart parking lot, friendly?yeah right! The walmartians that we all see from emails from our friends are more friendly than this location,to quote my boss" poor attitudes"live and breath at this location,I don't know if the money that comes into this location blinds the owners to a point that they look away from the troublemakers or maybe its a lack of interest. We even had one man come up to us while we were at a event with our daughter proclaiming he
was"THE MAYOR" I don't know about you but I felt like running a campaign to get him voted out, after our run in with "THE MAYOR" we brushed him off like dandruff off our shoulders"if we had dandruff". We did finally meet up with some wonderful people from brandon who took us for a proper tour and introduced us too more people who didn't leave a bad taste in our mouths. I will say this the R.D.R grill young ladies who cook, do make a good hearty breakfast and dinner i would recommend this location for food. besides meeting the wrong people at first.
The only things I would worry about are some people"who think they are a"MAYOR"
.
To recap this location has some serious concerns.

Response from RubberDuckyResort, Front Office Manager at Rubber Ducky Resort and Campground
Responded Sep 8, 2011
Rubber Ducky Resort does not solve personal issues between campers. Someone stating that they are 'the Mayor' does not violate any of our campground policies and therefore is not a campground issue. We would suggest that any such personal issues with another camper be discussed with that individual and not posted on an anomyous forum.

I am sitting at my campsite right now writing this review because I have nothing better to do as I try to hide from the sun in our poorly treed campsite. Older parts of campground seem fine, but after we made our reservations online in what we believed was the tenting area behind the pond (as "tenting" appears in purple on the website), we were stuck with a campsite in the back with no trees and thus no shade. Not good when it's 30 degrees outside. We were excited to come here but were disappointed, poor customer service too, the girl gave us poor directions to our site and also had no idea what I was talking about when I inquired about a reservation behind the pond in the "tenting" sites. I was simply told I was in a tenting site. Thanks but tenting and no trees doesn't work to well.
