It's a warm, inviting motel with creative decor. The location was close to all the attractions. The new owners are working hard to please and made me feel right at home! The rooms are clean and the firm bed was great for my bad back. I would highly recommend this Clay City charmer!

Super clean rooms, comfy beds and close to Red River Gorge. It's a cute little, quiet (non-chain) motel just off the parkway. Safe area and well lit. The owners are super friendly and nice. I'll be back next time for sure!

New owners. Very nice couple from out of state. The room rates were cheap because they are still renovating. The updated rooms are nice. They have charming decorations and flowers. The beds were clean and the room didn't smell like smoke. The a/c worked great. I believe it will be really charming when they have finished. Has a Home Like feel.

Almost froze to death. Only heater was a floor space heater that barely simmered any warm air out. You had to block the front door with it to reach a plug. Air conditioner still in window so the road noise was horrendous.. not to mention the wind that blew in the room. It got down to 30 degrees that night no exaggeration .. the toilet ran at a wild flush all night . The floors were spongy and grossly dusty with hair. The "non-smoking" room stunk like an ashtray that hasn't been emptied in months. Cigarette burn holes everywhere, floors, sinks, bedspread and sheets. The pillow cases smelled like a dirty scalp. I was completely miserable. I wasn't expecting much for 50 bucks but the place was filthy and no hot water.

My 82 year old mother made our reservation. When she called back to insure the hotel was non-smoking, no one returned her call. She gave them her cell phone number as we were traveling to the area for a funeral. When we arrived we had to call a number for someone to come check us in (10-15 minute wait). The hotel indicates non-smoking on perimeter signs. Our room wreaked! Room windows were propped open with a wooden stick. I am guessing it is because of our request for non-smoking and their effort to pass it off as such. Exterior: For the most part the Inn is clean on the outside with plenty of parking. The Corvette shown in one of the older of the three pictures previously submitted is still sitting in the parking lot with an expired plate. Interior: Mattress was firm; however bed sheets and spreads were stained and dirty. No toilet paper holder. Gnats in the restroom. Description indicates kitchenettes: it is a college frig. and microwave sitting on the floor. Lamps were missing shades or shades were cracked and peeling. Walls were paper thin between rooms and exterior wall. Inn sits feet off the road and vehicles roar up and down it all hours of the night. Inn sits right at the end of the exit ramp. Semi's Jake brake coming off the parkway. Curtains with blinds do not cover window so light shines in from the street and morning sun. When a neighboring room uses the water, it sounds like something is scratching in the pipes. Because of our time constraints, we did not have the luxury of driving back to look for something else. Don't make the same mistake. Stay in Winchester. Room rate was $60 for two beds.
