Our family of four traveled from St. John's for a weekend away with friends and their children. This is really a hidden gem, in one of the most beautiful areas of the Province. The hotel was not difficult to find, but is a good 3 hour+ drive from St. John's. Check-in was easy and painless. However, we were surprised to find that the restaurant had been closed for a year and the website was not updated, which was really too bad. The bar area is open with bar foods like chicken wings and fries, and the pub grub was very delicious. The single staff member on site was very friendly and worked incredibly hard to get us our food and serve the many other locals that were there for their poker night.
Our rooms were two bedroom suites on the second floor, which had a lovely view. Our room had a broken main blind (we were told it was broken by the last guest, and since it was custom could not be quickly replaced), which was a bit of a pain, as the deck outside our room was open to all guests who could then see in our condo, and it also impacted our view from the table. However, this was extremely minor and understandable. Also, it would be nice to be able to leave the condo and go right on the deck but you do have to leave your room and go down the hall. Also extremely minor. Otherwise, everything was in very good shape. Beds were comfortable and extra pillows were provided. There is no air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans along with one stand alone fan and an ocean breeze in the front of the resort. During our weekend the temperatures were low, so it did not impact us at all.
The best part of the resort is the location, and the gorgeous view from the deck (which also had a BBQ. Also, the staff, especially the lady in charge of housekeeping, were lovely friendly women - really could not be beat.
The men in our group played the 9 holes of golf twice on our first full day, and snuck in a second 9 holes the next. They very much enjoyed the course, although they did say it needed some minor maintenance. The prices were extremely reasonable when you are staying on site, and there are rentals and golf carts available.
The other couple hiked the Skerwink trail, which is about a 20 minute drive from the resort and raved. This hike is not for beginners, as there is a lot of climbing, but it is a relatively short 5 kms and completely worthwhile for the incredibly scenic views. We all visited Trinity, which is very touristy these days but absolutely gorgeous (the tourists come for a reason!), Bonavista (don't skip the Dungeon), and my personal favourite, Elliston, along with the puffin viewing area in Maberley. The Sealers' Museum in Elliston is a must, as is Hiscock House in Trinity. We stayed three nights, but could have filled up another week in the area without feeling bored at all.
All in all, a lovely and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this resort - a hidden gem for sure.

We stayed at The View last week renting a 2 bedroom suite for 2 couples. The accomodations were fantastic, the staff terrific and helpful and the food even better. Trevor, Travis and the girls were all so welcoming and fun. We even enjoyed a nice bonfire a couple of evenings. The views from the lookout were spectacular and we will surely return. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so lovely.

I am traveling with my 20 year old son who stays up late, I wanted us to each have our own bedroom. On the peninsula, The View Golf Resort was the best option. We had 2 bedrooms, an open space kitchen and living room. The kitchen has all the basic stuff you need for cooking, and salt and pepper. There was a toaster and microwave, and a coffee maker. They do provide 2 little pouches of coffee. We cooked, because there isn't much in the clubhouse, and nothing close in terms of restaurants. The view from the room was great, too bad it was raining both days we were there!
The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, good towels, extra blankets and pillows are available.
The walls are thin, we could hear our neighbors enough to be annoying when you are trying to have a quiet cup of coffee in the morning. Wireless is ok but could be better, it would take a minute to upload photos on Trip Advisor.
The baking sheets (to make chicken fingers and fries in the oven) were crusted black, perhaps it is time to invest in new ones. It would be nice if there was also a scrubbing sponge so we can wash them properly. And aluminum foil would be even better to line the sheets.
I am rating this very good because overall it was very good, good location, lots of space to move around, clean.

Do not book this place UNLESS your only option is to sleep in your car!! For all intents and purposes it is a closed facility. No services. No ice - NOTHING! We did not view the rooms /apartments so I can't comment on the actual rooms. If u need a place to get off the road and everything else is booked.... It may suffice! 🤷♀️ I didn't think to take any pics..... We just wanted to get out of there ASAP

The view is amazing but the property is shabby. Furnishings like a college dorm. Smells funny. And God forbid you are hungry, there is nothing to eat for miles. We settled on the bar and had expensive grilled sandwiches that were served without a pickle, lettuce, chips, nada. Never missed Domino's Pizza so bad in my life. We do not golf -and maybe the golf course is amazing. The view is great but bring your own luxury. The women who greeted us upon arrival were super friendly and accommodating but they don't have a magic wand for the room itself. The kitchenette was a coffee maker, toaster and dorm frig.

I have visited several times, this most recent trip was the first time in a couple of years. First off, the good: great golf course, good location, and an amazing view.
The Bad: The Television's cable connection was loose, the dvd player was not connected to the television, there was a lot of water behind the toilet, and mildew was growing on the trim. There was no air movement in the bathroom, so warm shower air lingered for hours. The clubhouse is damaged on the exterior, and shows significant signs of neglect, and the landscaping (cart paths in particular) is in very hard shape. I know the current owners are selling, so I would hope the new owners will invest in the property. Another consideration would be to bring a different perspective to the property; perhaps work with someone like the Fisher's Loft to grow some produce and bring the dining up a notch or two, take advantage of the people who come to that area for that sort of thing. Expensive wings and rings won't encourage folks to stick around for a meal.
I still think this location has amazing potential, and I really hope it is realized.

My husband and I stayed for two nights while we visited Bonavista and Trinity. It was adequate, clean and comfy. For great food go up 30 mins to the Bonavista social club. Everything is homemade and you might see a whale or two while you dine. The View resort is a condo. So don't expect hotel amenities. however they do supply the firewood for a nice seaside fire. The breakfast at the golf club was good but basic...what can you expect? It felt homey with the staff like a b and b. Very friendly and will do anything to ensure you are satisfied. We had a full kitchen with a full sized fridge. The tv wasn't modern but we were not there to watch tv. I would recommend it. The price is very reasonable. .thanks to the staff that made us feel welcome.

I was very impressed with The View Golf Resort. The manager Lorraine was very friendly and our stay in the two bedroom condo was excellent. The condo was spotless with all the amenities to make your own meals. We ate our dinner and breakfast in the dining room upstairs and breakfast in the downstairs eatery. The golf course was fun to play with some very challenging holes. Many thanks to Lorraine and Jane as well as our waitress for their hospitality I would highly recommend a stay at The View Golf Resort.

If you are in the Bonavista area, this golf club is a nice alternative to all the tourist places around Trinity. We happened to go here as the entire Trinity area was sold out, but were pleasantly surprised. It wasn't inexpensive, but it was so nice to have quiet to sleep and a lean spacious place.
We had a large room, breakfast-making supplies (toaster, kettle, frig - but not the food), BBQ for evening meal, comfortable bed and best of all, quiet to be able to sleep! It was lovely to have the peace at night and in the morning. Beautiful view over the water and woods. Nice to have a deck to enjoy a drink on.
The course is tucked away off the Route 236, but is really not far from the road, nor from Route 230 which goes up the peninsula. This would be a good place for a family of adults who want a quieter spot. I would go back.

We came by for a visit last year, just to see the place. The friendly staff showed us the rooms, and we decided then we were coming back for a stay the following year. We have been there twice this summer, once as a couple and once again with our kids and friends in tow. And they had a child in a wheel chair, so the accessible unit was perfect! Something this spectacular has to be shared. The view, breath taking! The staff were so friendly, and the food was great (oh! those wings and mussels.... mmmm !) and we made friends with the owner! What a great time was had by all! (and we don't even golf!) I highly recommend a stay here!
