The Seaport Inn is centrally located on Route 230 Discovery Trail, in the middle of two of the peninsula's biggest Tourism hubs, Bonavista and Trinity. We provide a relaxed atmosphere where you can come as you are and leave with a smile. We do this by preparing home cooked meals from scratch with fair pricing for both rooms and food. Our goal in the next 5 years is to be known as a uniquely-unrefined but memorable experience while offering our guests a historical atmosphere. We will do this by treating our tourists, group tours and business travelers as guests in our home, where you come in as strangers and leave as friends. We are here to serve you to the best of our capabilities, assist you in your travels and help make memories you will remember forever.

We stayed at the Seaport Inn for three nights and found it to be very comfortable, quiet, and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful (Carl, the owner, even helped us find a restaurant in nearby Bonavista which was open for supper on the day we arrived (Labour Day) since the hotel's own restaurant was closed that day). The food and service at Carl's Fireside Restaurant was superb. Vouchers for a tasty and filling discounted breakfast are available at the front desk as are complimentary bottles of water.

Our room was on the second floor in the renovated section and had all the normal hotel amenities including a coffee/tea machine. The bed, mattress, and pillows were very comfortable, although a closet with a clothes rack would have been useful.

The Seaport Inn's location in Port Union is only 15 minutes drive from Bonavista and Trinity. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Seaport Inn and will certainly come back when we are in the area again.

Even though this is rated at only 2 stars the 4 or 5 rooms in the back are very clean, the bed was comfortable and the parking was just outside the room. Its a little surprising as you walk into 'reception' as it appears dark and dingy and the drive around the back of two adjoining retaurants to access your rooms that are hard by an old shed and some parked trailers and in some unmown grass. But the rooms, simple are well maintained and appear newly refurbished. I would stay here again as its close to Bonavista and the Dungeons.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Inn. The hotel is painted in such beautiful and vibrant colours which I really enjoyed. There is an onsite restaurant where we enjoyed dinner and breakfast. The breakfast, especially was delicious - I enjoyed the toutons and a fresh partridgeberry muffin. The beds in the hotel were really comfortable and the rooms were quiet and well set up. Carl and his team were all lovely to interact with!

The entrance was very inviting and there was no problem parking. Our room was clean and well equipped, bathroom small but good water pressure and hot water in shower. We had dinner at the attached restaurant that also caters to large groups. I had fish cakes, served piping hot, and salad and they were both delicious. Staff was friendly despite being very busy. Everything here was just fine and I would stay and eat here again.

We stayed here for two nights to go whale watching and to see puffins at Cape Bonavista. The first room we were in had not been renovated and the walls were too thin. Conversations were easy to hear. The lovely lady at the front desk moved us inside to a renovated room. It was simple, very clean, and had a comfy bed, and good tub. The closet had no bar in it or hangers surprisingly, but there were hooks by the door. This room was just right. The people made this spot special with their kindness. The restaurant had really yummy food which took a long time to be served. The servers were so helpful and kind. The prices in summer are high so the prices here were really reasonable. Fish cakes and fish were amazing. The Fisherman's breakfast with fried bologna and molasses and toutons ( fried bread) made me remember the simpler days of childhood. We would certainly return. If you need fancy, high end furniture and finishes you won't find them here. If you want kindness, comfort and a cottage feel this is the right place.

Rooms were good. Staff was friendly but we had three rooms booked between our family and we all put the please make up our room sign on our door and none of our rooms were cleaned. When we went to the desk to ask why we were told that we had to request it at the desk if we wanted our rooms cleaned. Our room was right beside the stock room in which they got the supplies for the rooms so they had to have seen the sign on our door and if they do not want the signs used they should not be on the door of the room. We only had one tv channel which was the CTV news channel. When I went to the registration desk and told them that we had one tv channel we were told that they knew that and that they were waiting on a technician and didn’t know when they would be there. It seems like they have been waiting for awhile not just the couple of days we were there, We should have been informed of this when we checked in. The water while in the shower would go from scalding hot to icy cold. We were not impressed.

We got take out seafood chowder from the restaurant during a visit to the area. The portion seemed very small when we got home. I messaged the restaurant and they replied that our order was what they provided. A few days later I got another message saying that indeed there was an error in portioning and we were welcome to come in for two free chowders. As we had travelled on from the area, they credited our credit card instead. This is a true example of excellent customer service which was much appreciated. We recommend this establishment!

The room was very clean. The staff were friendly. Very affordable rates. We had the honey moon suite and the hot tub was a wonderful bonus. Only note there is no shower in the suite, just a jacuzzi tub. The inn is located right between all the local attractions, 20 min drive to each. The restaurant had great food as well. Loved our stay.

Location is great for visiting Bonavista Peninsula (Trinity - Bonavista) as it’s right in the middle. We went during COVID summer so their rates were lower than usual as a result. (Paid $90 plus tax per night for a single Queen room). As such I was very happy with the value! Great deal for what you get.

My husband didn’t find the bed that comfortable but I did. There were all the typical hotel amenities in the room. Very clean. It looks like they renovated the room that we were in (assuming they did so with all rooms).

Only complaint was that our room was right next to the hall door which slammed very loudly when anyone opened it. I feel like this could easily be fixed to be more quiet when it shuts, though.

Restaurant was good — loved their breakfast.
I definitely recommend this place. Would stay here again!

I made a mistake on my reservation. I booked the room the day before I expected to be there. When I showed up the day after my reservation, the gentlemen at the counter pointed out my mistake. He didn't have a room for me that night. He graciously called around and got me a place for the night 20 minutes away. After finding that I got charged for the room per their cancellation policy, that was clearly stated in the reservation. I called and asked if he would refund me for the room. He graciously agree to refund me the money for the room. Thanks so much for being a great person.

I'm not sure but knowing how helpful and accommodating they are I'm betting that if you ask and give them some notice they will probably come up with one😁
