My hubby and I stayed in the honeymoon suite with private hot tub. It was picture perfect. Very private, easy check in, immaculately clean, and the bed was super comfy. We ate at their restaurant and it was simply delicious. The waitress was a sweetheart. We can't wait to book again and would highly recommend this beautiful inn.
Recently ate at the Fireside and had their hot turkey sandwich. The gravy tasted like thickened water. The turkey had absolutely no taste, nor did anything else on the plate. No seasoning whatsoever. So sad to say this as I have been eating here for 30 years. The hot turkey used to be my favorite ☹️
We stayed here for two nights to go whale watching and to see puffins at Cape Bonavista. The first room we were in had not been renovated and the walls were too thin. Conversations were easy to hear. The lovely lady at the front desk moved us inside to a renovated room. It was simple, very clean, and had a comfy bed, and good tub. The closet had no bar in it or hangers surprisingly, but there were hooks by the door. This room was just right. The people made this spot special with their kindness. The restaurant had really yummy food which took a long time to be served. The servers were so helpful and kind. The prices in summer are high so the prices here were really reasonable. Fish cakes and fish were amazing. The Fisherman's breakfast with fried bologna and molasses and toutons ( fried bread) made me remember the simpler days of childhood. We would certainly return. If you need fancy, high end furniture and finishes you won't find them here. If you want kindness, comfort and a cottage feel this is the right place.…
We got take out seafood chowder from the restaurant during a visit to the area. The portion seemed very small when we got home. I messaged the restaurant and they replied that our order was what they provided. A few days later I got another message saying that indeed there was an error in portioning and we were welcome to come in for two free chowders. As we had travelled on from the area, they credited our credit card instead. This is a true example of excellent customer service which was much appreciated. We recommend this establishment!
This hotel is a 15 minute drive from Bonavista and I did not get the rooms displayed on the screenshot. I assume it wasn't renovated. The room that we got was dated, but it is large and spacious as the second bed is in its own bedroom. As a result, there were actually two TVs. There were two faucets as well, but one of them wasn't functional. But it essentially meets my expectations for a very small town.
Very pleased. Nice clean rooms with on site resturant that had great meals. Very friendly staff. Lots of hot water. They only clean rooms every 4 days unless requested. We just went to office to get coffee every few days. Breakfast is not included but with resturant there it was ok. Next door has a pizza place, subs and ice cream.
The entrance was very inviting and there was no problem parking. Our room was clean and well equipped, bathroom small but good water pressure and hot water in shower. We had dinner at the attached restaurant that also caters to large groups. I had fish cakes, served piping hot, and salad and they were both delicious. Staff was friendly despite being very busy. Everything here was just fine and I would stay and eat here again.
Good location, easy parking, staff good, restaurant attached, television and internet ok. Bathroom was small but adequate, shower pressure good, room good size. Mostly on one level but some upper rooms with stair access. beds comfortable, room clean,
Stayed here when our camping trip was rained out. If your expectations are realistic it is a lovely spot. Fresh, comfortable bed, big TV, mini fridge, and a couple of hotel soaps. The service was friendly. The restaurant serves a great diner-style cooked breakfast. Agreed that the water pressure is not great, but it's not that bad. Value is maybe not phenomenal but very standard for the region. Overall, highly recommended. Port Union is well worth a visit.
Stayed here for 2 nights. The water pressure in the shower was awful- we stayed around the back of the Inn. There is a large shed with garbage everywhere and very untidy. Not very welcoming, food was good
