Recently stayed at this B&B and it a terrific experience. Gary and Shelly were wonderful hosts and were most informative about the area. The home has been wonderfully restored and it was most interesting to see the photos as they progressed through the renovations. We have never been in a B&B that offered such a wide selection of breakfasts and...

My wife and I rarely stay at a B&B, but after looking for accommodation in this area, and reading reports from various sources on this place, we felt we had to give it a try. Well, this was a total mind-blowing experience! Gary and Shelly were amazing, in all respects. The accommodation was outstanding, the view from our balcony was...

Gary and Shelly run a top notch B&B. Extremely welcoming and warm and the accomodations are the same! The evening social and common table breakfast environment were fantastic. Breakfast made to order with excellent options and cooked to perfection! Their passion for the local history as well as their involvement in restoration of the area was so educational and informative....

A memorable stay at Captain Blackmore's Heritage Inn - in August 2014! Garry's & Shelly's warm hospitality, keen business sense, their high standards for quality, special touches, and attention to detail made our stay at this B & B truly delightful. Fantastic stay at Captain Blackmore's. Garry and Shelly were so welcoming and full of knowledge to help us continue our travels in Newfoundland. Enjoyed our evening tea giving us a great opportunity to meet the other guests. Breakfast was delicious and had us all set for the next leg of our trip.

We had a great time at Captain Blackmore's. The room was great. Attractive, clean, convenient to Bonavista and Trinity. Terrific breakfast cooked to order. But the owners were the best part. Gary and Shelly are very nice and very helpful but never intrusive. Each evening we had tea and chatted with them about our day and they offered suggestions for...

Certainly this is a terrific B and B. We loved our stay there, always felt our inquiries about the area were addressed w/ great care, as they provided us with accurate maps to trails. We were allowed access to the washer/dryer which was a great benefit. The breakfasts and evening gathering w/snacks were lovingly prepared w/ special jams in the...

This was our second visit to Captain Blackmore’s, and we were not disappointed! This is a wonderful place to stay, and is central to all the sightseeing, hiking, and dining that we wanted to do during the week. We stayed in the Newfoundlander Suite for 4 nights, which gave us plenty of room, as well as a nice private balcony...

I can't tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed our stay here. We were only here for one night in August 2014, but this place was special enough to leave a lasting impression. We wish we had stayed longer! The manor, the service and the hosts were impeccable. Gary and Shelly have really done an excellent job of...

Gary and Shelly Blackmore clearly poured years of hard work and inspiration into restoration of his family's heritage home. Magnificent, in an historic town. They are wonderful hosts; the "evening tea" was a lovely time meeting other guests before heading up to a well appointed, immaculate and comfortable room for a great night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent, and the whole...
