Marilyn and Claude have fallen totally in love with this pretty corner of France. After 3 years of work in the "farm of Bordeneuve", three charming rooms have been set up in the old stable, restored in pure tradition with natural materials. In the heart of Gascony Gersoise in the commune of Lavardens, classified "most beautiful village of France", where the majestic castle (current building dating from the 17th century) throne, you will appreciate the nature and the calm of this enchanting place with a panoramic view On the countryside and its valleys. You will enjoy the swimming pool located away from the house.
We arrived to a beautiful home in the middle of the French countryside. The house has been beautifully renovated! Truly one of the nicest properties we have stayed in. Marilyn greeted us upon our arrival and made us feel right at home. Her dinner recommendations were perfect. Claude orchestrated our day's activities with fanatasitc maps that our google map could actually understand. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The large house sits in ample grounds with no near neighbours, slightly above the gently sloping lawned area affording delightful prospects of the rolling Gers countryside. Our room was large, as was the bathroom and the very comfortable bed. The swimming pool is also a good size and to relax with a book after a swim and hear....nothing...is absolute bliss. While the hosts may appear at first glance a little reserved (compared to the effusive welcome at other B and B's in the area) they soon warm to their new guests and by the second day any slight reticences have completely disappeared. This is a wonderful place to disconnect, the hosts are very discreet, the tiny roads have virtually no traffic, so one can wander as little or as much as one feels, observe small deer in the fields or simply laze in the grounds while the breeze rustles the leaves in the trees. The evening meal, while good, with excellent wine and Armagnac, did include a rather dry leg of duck. This did not detract from the success of the visit and this is one place where we would like to return as, having only three rooms and yet large grounds and an isolated position, it is fairly unique.…

We were greeted by a chorus of frogs and felt privileged because it only happens for about 10 days each year. Then Claude gave us a proper welcome and showed us to our room which was spacious, clean and comfortable, had tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely view over the gardens. The en-suite was also large and had twin basins and a lovely large shower, plus lots of hot water! The extensive gardens provided an enjoyable walk and the swimming pool was a good size. Peace and tranquility abound in the depth of this rolling countryside. On both nights of our stay, our delightful hostess, Marilyn, served delicious cuisine, accompanied by a tasty aperitif, wine and a delightful, smooth Armagnac. Gracious Marilyn and witty Claude are the perfect hosts.

Wow, this old renovated barn is way out in the middle of farmlands on a country lane. We were greeted by the fun and delightful owners, Marilyn and Claude, originally from Paris, and their friendly dog. It had taken them three years to build the three guest rooms and the living/dining room area. There is a little refrigerator, stove and sink down there as well. Their living quarters are on the other side of the building. We had chosen the Nymphea Room , downstairs, which had a door to the outside. We parked our car right outside there making it easy to transport our luggage. The room was just perfect, with a very comfortable king bed and bedside tables and lamps, which we appreciate. The sheets and towels were of higher quality and because it is out “nowhere” it was oh, so quiet! The shower was perfect, but lacked any bar of soap, so bring your own. There are twin sinks and liquid soap. Marilyn has a nice decorating touch. The property is spread out with a lovely pond and a swimming pool and views of rolling hills. It is extremely quiet and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved having and learning about Floc. It is a regional aperitif, and was served at 7:30. Floc is a type of grape juice infused with Armagnac and it was just delicious. At 8:00 a leg of duck was served along with fried potatoes and ratatouille. Both of our ducks were very dry as were the potatoes. They also served a wonderful red wine that had won a gold medal. We were the only guests there that evening, which made it lovely for us. For dessert, Marilyn had made a divine apple tart with filo dough. After dinner they joined us and we told stories and laughed and enjoyed them a lot. After an ample breakfast we left to buy some Floc! We definitely recommend this Gite for the comfort, cleanliness and the wonderful hospitality of Marilyn and Claude.…

We stayed here for just one night, but will return for more. The rooms, the dinner, the breakfast... all top notch. The The hosts are personable and very attentive without being intrusive. Madame speaks English, but happily switches if she senses you wish to practice your French. The grounds are lovely and the renovated buildings are charming. The area is great for tasting Armagnac, and a reasonable distance from out next destination, San Sebastian in Basque country. A plûs.

Staying at this B&B was an absolute joy and the highlight of our two week vacation. We were so comfortable with Marilyn & Claude and with our spacious room. The room and private bath are huge, fresh and clean. Marilyn is a fabulous cook and hostess and Claude is an expert creator of individualized itinerary. We researched and knew what we would like to do in Gers, but without Claude's detailed map and pictograph, we would have been wasting precious time. We feel like we have met lifelong friends. Great location for touring Gers. Large, beautiful pool and grounds as well. Amazing renovation of an old farmhouse. P.S. My husband was wary of a B&B stay and he can't wait to return to Lo Campestre. A great deal in a great area.

Nestled in beautiful rolling hills this immaculate B&B was a perfect escape. Large beautifully decorated room with lots of character and very clean. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and we had dinner there as well both nights - local cuisine of a very high standard. enjoyed the local duck dishes immensely. We used this B&B to explore different surrounding places and with the help of the owners we discovered places we would have been sorry had we missed them.

Beautiful room, delicious breakfast and superb location. Cannot fault. English spoken. Total peace and seclusion so no night noise. Hosts knew several good restaurants and their recommendations were excellent.

Lo Campestre is such a great B&B in a lost corner of France, the Gers. The hosts really make you feel at home and make your stay a pleasant experience. Very nice house with perfectly maintained rooms. Great garden with pool including the undisturbed view of the countryside. Somewhat remote location but that is what you get when looking for "peace and quiet". The “table d’hôte” is highly recommended with great food and wines, and hosts that facilitate conversations between complete strangers as if you have known each other for ages. Nice experience.
