Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
This place was a great central location to some major junctions and highways, Clean and well kept although slightly dated but just sort of a timeless traditional style, Parking was easy and free and accessible surrounding the building and also in the parking structure. The grassy views around the building were nice the lobby was clean and well kept with a lovely peaceful waterfall and skylight... My room was decent decent and a comfortable bed. This could be comparable to a Hampton Inn and the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because in the lobby all restaurants and bars have been closed due to cov it but Hey that's what happens with a lot of hotels... The best part about the stay was the breakfast where they had several hot meal choices and all sorts of other options , it felt like "breakfast before covid", good! Professional and friendly staff who were helpful and me and made the effort. I traveled for work and I would definitely stay here again.

I had stayed here in the distant past and decided to do so again while in town to perform at a nearby park. I stayed just the one night. The hotel had undergone some nice upgrades from Hotel Impossible TV show and the waterfall in the lobby is breathtaking. The clerk was great as she showed my photos of how to enter the parking garage. There is a free breakfast in the mornings and it has a lot of food items. The only thing not 100% was that my room shows signs of wear and tear. It w good though and I would stay agian.

We stayed here due to a convention we were attending. The price for the room was above average, however we did not have a microwave or refrigerator in our room. I had asked for a king room with a couch when I made the reservation but was told that it did not qualify for the discounted rate, however a couple we were traveling with did get that room. The breakfast is fantastic, but you have to walk al least 2 block to get lunch or dinner. We just drove to a local restaurant. The parking is terrible.

Hi Chris! We appreciate you staying with us. It is true that not all of our rooms have refrigerators and microwaves, but they can be reserved and are available on our website. We do try to upgrade people into those rooms, but we have had a lot of groups here in the past few weeks which made it extremely difficult to grant upgrades at all. Parking is currently in the covered parking garage beside us while our new facility is being built (that is the construction you can see in breakfast room) it will be state of the art and completed early in 2024. The lobby is very attractive and the front desk staff is attentive and professional.
My room was clean. However, the window didn't have blackout curtains, so I had to wear a sleep mask. Although the mattress was comfortable, the pillows were miniscule and unsupportive. In order to sleep, I had to turn off both the noisy heating system and in-room refrigerator. Both the desk and desk chair were in disrepair. Also, the sink took about ten minutes to drain after I finished shaving.
The fitness center is a disaster! I used the one elliptical machine during my entire stay and it rumbled and felt as if I were riding on a bumpy road. There was no hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes for the equipment. Additionally, the water cooler bottle was empty; and it remained so during the entire stay. Also, there was torn carpeting in many spots and a cracked mirror.
In the passageway to the pool, there was a large unrepaired rip in the carpet.

Breakfast was the only amenity available. It is a tired hotel. The pool has been closed for years. No lounge or restaurant available. Serves as an overflow housing for KSU nearby. They also rent subsidized rooms & call them “hotel condos”. Much of their down stairs meeting space is storage and vacant. You can see through the windows the mess from the outside. But the real problem is the parking is across the street because their attached parking garage is not usable due to structure problems. It is convenient for the government buildings nearby but other than that, go someplace else. Even the parking garage across the street is so filthy, I hated to set my suitcase outside my car. Plus you have to play “Frogger” to cross the street.

I am very disappointed at the impression you were left with regarding our hotel. I would like to address some the comments you made as they are not correct. Our pool has not been closed for years. It was closed after a storm went through last month. Due to a loss of windows, we were taking the time to repaint and update the pool area before reopening. Our meeting space is also not storage. We have 10,000 sq ft of meeting space and it is home to many groups for meetings and conventions. You may be referring to the outside spaces in back of the hotel that we do not have any control over. They are used for storage by the developer, but they are not our meeting space or part of our hotel. We do not have subsidized rooms. This hotel was built with permanent apartments on the top floors. They are beautiful condos and even a penthouse that have spectacular views of the city. It is certainly not a detraction to our operation. We are in transition with our parking. Currently we are using the garage next door until our new garage is built behind us. We do not actually own the parking garage as it is operated by the city. Our new garage breaks ground May 9 and will be done in less than a year. I do apologize for the less than flattering impression you had about our hotel, but we are working to improve our facility every day. The pillows are so small and worn down its ridiculous. The bed mattress is like the size of a motel 6 mattress so small and uncomfortable. The parking u have to park across the street at a farmers market when people that have condos on top of hotel can park in lower garage. I ate the breakfast the first day and everything was so cold. Who wants to eat cold eggs??? They need to make some major improvements. This would have to be the worse hotel I have stayed at

We are sorry you were not happy with your stay. We are currently going through a transition in downtown Frankfort and it has negatively affected our parking. Our previous parking structure was demolished a few years ago and they are finally building a new parking structure behind us and will be connected to the hotel. It is scheduled to be completed this summer. As a result, we are having to use the lot across the street for parking. As for our beds, they are a standard size and the same as any other hotel with double beds. We will definitely address the pillows and the breakfast as no one should have an uncomfortable pillow or cold breakfast. We do with you the best on your future travels.

Be aware that at this “hotel” there are long term student dorm residents. It is very dated and beat up for the price you pay. Although the location was convenient to our activities, the parking was in a garage across the street and they do not monitor the front when you are checking in/out. There was a car with a ticket on it right outside the front main entrance and it was not towed. There were no spots available and there is a lot of traffic at the front entrance. The bar is closed bc they can’t find staff and you are not permitted to drink in the lobby bc of insurance liability. On a positive note, the staff were very nice and helpful. I would have given a 3 star had this room not cost $135.

Thank you for the feedback on your stay and I appreciate the kind words regarding our staff. However, there are several points you made that are not accurate. The Lounge was closed during the pandemic due to the state mandates and the owner has not reopened at this point. Renovations and other plans have delayed the reopening, but It is not a staffing issue. Parking is not in front of our hotel and we do not write tickets. We have nearly 200 spaces in the parking garage across the street. It is a city garage and the police do patrol. We do have a new garage coming behind our hotel that is slated to begin early next year. I do hope the rest of your visit to Frankfort was enjoyable and wish you all the best in your future travels.

This Hotel looks amazing from the pictures online. The lobby looks like a really fancy hotel that is very dated. The smell was fairly dingy and old. The counter person was very friendly. We were placed on the 5th floor for our 3 night stay. The only good thing we can say is the Air Conditioning worked well. The bed was pretty stiff for my liking and older you could feel the springs in it. The room smelled of old smoke horriblly and had that almost moldy smell but not moldy stagnent like an old basement. This did not go away after a few days of staying there. We found out after the second night that they don't offer any room service and towels have to be placed outside the room to be replaced. I would not recommend until they remodel if that is a plan or not. Very disappointing to drive 8 hours and check into this on our Honeymoon.

We don't want to expose you to the virus and we have to protect our employees from it as well. The limited-service approach fits both situations, but it is not ideal. We will continue to improve that service, but outbreaks are still prevalent in our area. I appreciate your feedback on the room. We are in the process of changing carpets and other upgrades that will include bedding and will help our overall guest experience. We do hope the rest of your visit to the area was more enjoyable.

A place in need of a makeover as some facilities show definite signs of significant wear and tear and being outdated. Having said that, it’s location to the old downtown is outstanding. Still a pleasant weekend stay, rates comparable to other options.

Our wedding party, family and friends stayed Friday and Saturday night the weekend of our daughter’s wedding. The hotel staff was amazing! The hotel ran a shuttle to The Foundry, the venue, for wedding guests and the wedding party throughout the night to accommodate everyone.

We had appetizers and a couple of beers in the hotel bar which was fine but dinner might be better elsewhere. Jim's Seafood restaurant is on the KY river in between the hotel and Buffalo Trace. You can't miss it on the left side of the road. Has great view over the KY river.
There are more places to choose from in the Frankfort area.
