I came to the area for events at the Kentucky Speedway, but didn't want to stay with the thousands of others in town for the event. I discovered Poet's House, which is a 15 minute drive from the Speedway on relaxing, scenic roads. The property is historic, yet the individual room I rented was modern and luxurious. We decided to head south for the weekend with no particular destination other than quiet. When we found Poet's House online, we were charmed by the description and photos of the faculty and grounds. I have stayed is historic B&Bs in the past and this is one of the nice ones. I loved the view of the Ohio River. The host David was friendly and the spinach quiche he served for breakfast was delicious.
