We enjoyed a nights stay here and loved the area. Staff were helpful and friendly and adhering to Covid rules and regulations. We had an amazing meal in the bar, beautifully presented and tasty. The room was cosy and warm; it overlooked the road but, because it's in a quiet village it really didn't matter. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed for a night before the latest lockdown. Dog friendly which was important to us. Couldn't have been better in terms of welcome & overall ambience. Very clean with regular attention to covid precautions. An older hotel in an excellent location. We had room 2 which was lovely and spacious. Ate in the bar beside the log burner and the food was delicious. Thanks to Matt and the team - we will be back.
We took the dinner, bed and breakfast deal for a last minute trip away for our anniversary. We found the hotel to be very cosy and well presented, our room top notch and very spacious and the food just brilliant. The menu had a disclaimer that due to COVID it was reduced but we found the selection very well thought out and we didn’t think it needed to be any bigger! The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. A special thank you to Matt for his welcome and help on check in. I can certainly recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway, business trip or venue.
Booked a room for Christmas night as we were visiting family for Christmas in Colwall. Staff were super pleasant, helpful and efficient. Our room was a good size nd had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent - good choice and well cooked. We returned for lunch on Boxing Day with some of the family and, again, the staff were super helpful and gave us a table in a room on our own which meant we did not have to keep nagging the two little boys to be quiet and sit still! The food was perfect and it was a really pleasant experience. The final touch was when we were offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco - sadly we had to drive so had to refuse but the offer was much appreciated. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and hope to return.
My wife booked an afternoon tea at the Colwell Park to celebrate my 70th birthday. What a pleasant surprise, the reception was professional and polite and adhering to covid restrictions. We were directed to our table where two other couples were seated at separate tables. The waiter took our order of tea and served up a delicious selection of finger sandwiches, scones , clotted cream and jam and a scrumptious selection of mince pies and cakes, topped with a birthday candle and birthday sprinkles. Absolutely brilliant. After finishing the sandwiches and scones we sampled one of the cakes and then came to the conclusion we were stuffed. We were then served with a glass of sparkling Prosecco to finish off our tea. We asked if we could take the remaining cakes home. A box was supplied for us to take them away. Whilst finishing out Prosecco the manager came and presented me with a box filled with a selection of local cheeses with fresh figs, grapes, celery and biscuits and wished me a happy birthday (my wife had arranged prior to our arrival). What a nice thought. I have visited the Colwall Hotel many times before for business purposes many years ago (over 25 years) and it's still as good now if not better.I Thank you very much and continue with the good service.…
