We couldn't get a room in Hobart in New Years Eve, so decided to keep on driving down to Port Huon because these cottages looked so nice. And we weren't disappointed. They had everything we needed, they were clean and comfortable, and the view was so beautiful - especially at sunset. It was so easy to relax and do nothing....

The views from our cottage were idylic overlooking the old port, salmon pens and the yachts riding at anchor. The cottage itself was very comfortable with a separate bedroom and well equipped kitchen. The only complaint was the small TV in the lounge and the old TV in the bedroom that could only pickup one channel. The location is very accessible...

It was a last minute booking as there is not much choice left. But when we were there, we were impressed with the views and the room were far more better then we have expected. The owner is also very help full as we checked in pretty late in the day.

We stayed here for two nights, the view was amazing. We asked for a cabin at the top which was well advised by another trip advisor. This would be especially needed for the elderly as you can park car at top of the road with good access to cabin. Other cabins there is a bit of a walk down concrete...

Enjoyed a two night stay here and love the proximity to the Huon river and views from the verandah. Very clean and well provisioned. Nice big heater in lounge room for those cool nights. Everything needed for a pleasant stay.

I have always admired these cottages and jumped at the opportunity to stay. I was disillusioned by the first night of my stay. Mountain goat territory, stairs with very poor attempt to make them non slip (nails sticking up), no handrails on the steep and wet paths and non functioning path lights. Unit was spacious but not overly warm, but...

We were on a driving holiday in late June 2015 and hadn't made any accommodation bookings, so stopped at The Port Huon Cottages (by chance), the Reception was not attended, however had a Ph No to call, and the lady was at the accommodation within 5 minutes to book us in for the night, we had suitcases and were dreading...

Dirty toilet seat. Dirty glasses. No pot scrubber so pots had been put back in cupboard dirty. Got the feeling that whoever had done the cleaning hadn't made a very good job of it. Not worth the money.

These cottages were quite nice, adequate and clean but the 2 bedroom one was too small for4 adults! Was alright for the 2 nights we were there but would not be able to stay much longer under each other's feet! Great for a family or couple! It was a bit uncomfortable having the toilet so close to everything. We did...

I had the pleasure of staying here at Port Huon Cottages a few years earlier and I was not disappointed with this recent stay. The cottages may be close to the road but the traffic basically stops after the Hobart work group clear the road you then have the silence of nature and the glitter of the million stars. The...
