We were part of a group that enjoyed an unexpected fine dining experience at the renovated dining room, Sass. Our host David provided impeccable service that was low key, attentive and perfectly timed and as for the food...my goodness, it was exceptional! A number of us had 'best I've ever tasted' moments, specifically for the eye fillets & the venison...

Both my partner and I enjoyed our meals and thought they were well priced. I had steak with veggies, perfectly cooked on all counts. My partner had the pork roll with coleslaw - generous portion and again well priced. Busy little pub and we found the staff very friendly and efficient.

An unexpected stay for us due to a fall over of another booking.com reservation. All worked well for everybody concerned and we were pleasantly surprised at our stay at "the local". Bed and private facilities were more than adequate, and the bonus was the restaurant Sass. View out over the marina and river. This is an old hotel that has...

Long review but worth the read. Hotel is newly renovated in a colonial/romantic style of past era. All furnishings are new but kept in style with the hotel, well decorated and makes you feel comfortable in summer or winter with options of warming up in frontof the fires. Great views of the Huon river frim almost every room. Accommodation was...

This was a convenient dinner stop for Geeveston as not much is open in Geeveston in an evening. Good range of pub food and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere in the bar. We didn't book in advance, but it could get busy in peak season.

Ate here for lunch, well priced meals with an assortment for all tastes. Lovely aspect, comfy seats, country service but meals served promptly. There is also a restaurant here too, but meals are a little more pricey.

I booked this place because they were doing Christmas dinner and I was very impressed with what I got served. More about that later. I booked a single room which was tastefully furnished, had a TV and an ensuite. Everything was very comfortable with one exception. Christmas Day was very warm and my room faced west. I got quite hot...

A quite small bar, 1930 style but clean and comfortable with a warm fire. Staff were friendly and chatty. My Parmigiana was good and my wife's lamb shank was excellent and the prices were reasonable. There were quite a few others, probably hotel guests, who were taking advantage of the casual atmosphere. The refurbished lounge and restaurant looked really nice...

I'm glad I didn't see the massive cobwebs on the window, which looked out on a roof, until morning. Shiver.... Breakfast was toast or box cereal. Tiny tea cups. Toughest porterhouse steak I've ever had in the lounge restaurant but on the bright side the best lamb shank my husband says he's ever had.
