I will admit I was shocked! Very clean and we'll maintained. Cabin 10 was awesome. I will return with family in near future. The trails are great, the trailhead itself could use a little work but wasn't horrible to ride. Great experience ready to go back. Not a lot in the little store on grounds but walmart is about 8-9... I have stayed in A couple of the cabins. Emily's elk lodge is my favorite. The first time I stayed was with a group of friends, that were off roading at black mountain. I liked it so much I started bringing my family. I usually come 3-4 times a year, a few guy trips and a few family trips. The... More

Spent New Years weekend here in the RV. Great spot for directly hitting the Black Mountain Off-road Adventure Area. Steven is very knowledgeable and very accommodating. Already have reservations for the very end of April. Only suggestion would be to extend the gravel a little further for the RV spots 14-17 if you go to try and turn around or... More

We stayed three nights in campground 3. We were pulling a 30 foot atv trailer. Owner suggested removing atvs from trailer to make the trip up to campground. Great suggestion. Had to use razors to help my two wheel drive surburban up to the campground. But when we got to the campground, what a view, it was just fantastic. Restrooms... More

My husband and I just stayed a couple nights in cabin #3. We really just needed a relaxing getaway and that is exactly what I got. The place was clean and everyone was so friendly. The porch swing was the icing on the cake! I can't wait to bring the kids backs and hit the trails next time!

We stayed two nights in Cabin #4. The cabin was very clean, staff was very friendly. It was nice to have Direct TV as we got stuck indoors during some of the rain. The campground seems to be very clean. Roads were very well graveled. Cabin pricing was right in line with what we paid in other places. My son... More

We came to Harlan Campground to have a last family outing before our Grandson left for Army Basic Training. My son in law also has old family roots in Harlan County so it was fun to explore the area for family information. We could not have had more fun, even with the occasional downpours during the time we were there.... More

We used an rv spot for 3 nights. Very accessible. Very nice restrooms + very clean! Owner was very nice and accommodating. We will be back for sure! We have a tube buggy and black mountain has some of the most extreme trails I've ever been on. Mason Jar, Lion's Den, etc. Had an awesome time!

I've been camping there since 2008 and loved every time. Most of the time I've camped for 3 nights. I consider it my home away from home because I feel so comfortable there and when it's time to go, I always wish I had at least another day to stay there. They have made significant improvements throughout the years to... More

This is the perefect location for trail access. The camping spaces are nice and flat. The parking lot has plenty of room to manuver a trailer. The Staff was very friendly. The camping area showers and rest rooms were very clean.

“Primitive tent sites= pros: amazing view, more "typical" camping experience; cons: gravel road a little intense but definitely doable. No bathrooms, electric, or water obviously so plan accordingly Electric sites= pros: very close to bath house, have electric and water at the site; cons: not much grass, mostly gravel, close to highway”
