I would highly recommend the Bennett House to anyone coming in to the Richmond area. My family and I stayed in the guest cottage and it was beyond our expectations. The accommodations and atmosphere was equal to a five star hotel but you were treated as a true guest with all your possible needs attended to. The décor was beautiful...

Great folks running the B&B. The property is located in the heart of Richmond right next to the EKU campus and it fits right in. We went for an evening walk in the area and loved it! Dining at breakfast reminded me of how my grandmother would put out the fine china for special dinners. The breakfast was good too!

Richard was kind enough to try and do some research in advance of our visit to Richmond to help me in my ancestral search. It was fun talking to Rita about her job as a Democratic State legislator. You go, girl! The room was very comfortable and the food was great.

Lovely B&B and charming host. Our room was large with a sitting room, spacious bathroom and chair massage. The B&B is gorgeous - lovely stained glass, woodwork and antiques. The breakfast was delicious and served to accommodate our schedule. I really liked the collection of teapots and cups.

What a beautiful (very large) home from the late 1800's. Fantastic woodwork with elegant stairs to upper floor. Charming rooms (we were in the "Belle"), beautiful stained glass and lighting thru out. Richard and Rita were both there upon arrival and most gracious (even to a Republican, Rita is a Dem State Legislator). Had a very pleasant night and Richard...

The house is beautifully decorated with antiques. The rooms are very spacious and breakfast is scrumptious. But best of all is Richard. He is very personable and fun to talk with. We did get to meet his wife Rita (she is a Kentucky State Legislator and is very busy). Together they make wonderful hosts at a wonderful B&B. It is...

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Kentucky, just for fun, and we picked Richmond because it was fairly centrally located to all our planned activities. We looked at bed and breakfasts in the area and the Bennett House stood out. We were not disappointed when we got there. Richard was a fantastic host, the house was gorgeous,...

When we pulled into the driveway at dusk, seeing this lovely and unique old home, I couldn't stop staring, at the impressive brick building, the turrets, the stained glass, the Porte cochere, I was absolutely agog at the beauty and splendor of this B & B. Richard, our host, welcomed us into his home, and the inside was as magnificent...

I made our reservation in advance and provided a credit card at that time. The first indication of problems was when Richard called a few days later & said they would not be home on our arrival day until 6-7 pm. I considered canceling the reservation at that point but was told that a key would be left in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Richmond Kentucky's only bed and breakfast offers more than a comfortable stay;it brings to life a rich history, elegant surroundings and a delicious full-course breakfast. The Bennett House is a Queen Anne-style house with Romanesque detailing, build in 1889. Much of its European influence likely comes from statesman Cassius M. Clay's daughter Sarah, daughter-in-law of the home's original owner. Now the Bennett House offers you modern comforts, privacy, seclusion, plus the convenience of being within walking distance of downtown Richmond's shopping and dining. ... more   less
