We truly enjoyed our overnight stay in this beautiful B&B. The Maison is clean and comfortable. Our private bathroom was very large and well-appointed. Unique artistic touches were evident everywhere in the furnishings and decorations. The check-in process is decidedly low key: our key was in an envelope outside our door with all the necessary paperwork and instructions. There is...

We have stayed at Maison des Amis many times and always have had a wonderful experience through the years. The location is a beautiful and peaceful setting right on Bayou Teche and it is lovely to sit out on the gazebo and have a cocktail. Also, it is in the heart of downtown and you can walk to the shops...

first the housekeeper and owner are nice people BUT the Boudier room #1 is the most expensive but not worth the price (try #2 it is more spacious with smaller attached bath). the bathroom is bigger and private but the showerhead is held in place with a ziptie and cannot be adjusted so you have to stand directly against the...

We had been travelling for a few weeks, and decided to give ourselves a treat, paid more than triple what we're used to paying, and what a disappointment. Nobody to greet us, nobody the whole time, a very small double bed in the centre of the room, no ensuite, the temperature was uncontrollable with the thermostat coming on loudly and...

If you're into Zydeco dancing in Breaux Bridge, this is the place to stay on a Friday night for the Saturday morning dancing at Cafe Des Amis around the corner. You get a breakfast coupon at the restaurant, and the location is perfect for walking. The room itself was nice enough. Well decorated, quiet, and comfortable. However, we did not...

Pros - Centrally located within a short walk from restaurants and cafes - Atmospheric old house nicely renovated - Antique furnishings and tastefully decorated (Room No 1) - Nice back garden leading down to bayou (though noisy as it's also next to the main road) Cons - Owner not on site which can be inconvenient if you have questions or...

My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary with a trip to Louisiana. I chose this B&B because it was in Breaux Bridge and we planned to enjoy Café des Amis. From the photos it looked romantic and it’s clear that a lot of work was put into renovating and choosing the period pieces that were in Room 2...

Just back from a trip to Louisianna. We stayed at the Maison des Amis for one night and, overall, had an acceptable time. The Inn is quaint and the owners have obviously done a great job renovating it over the years. We stayed in Room #1. The room was clean. We felt the housekeeping could have been better. The drapes...

Quaint, clean and all was fine! Just want to say a few things not in the extensive reviews here. Rooms 3 and 4 are listed as having private baths but they are down the hall. The 'hall' is actually a glass enclosed narrow side porch. The baths have old claw foot tubs w showers that could be really tricky for...

We stayed in Room 2. We absolutely loved the room. It was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was adjoining plenty big enough. There was a shower along with the large clawfoot tub. When you finished with your soak you could enjoy their complementary bathrobes. The location of our room was great. We didn't have anyone walking past our room because...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Charming Caribbean/Creole residence, Maison des Amis overlooks lush gardens, which lead to a charming white gazebo that sits over the legendary Bayou Teche. Built around 1870/1880 and known as the "Boudier" house, it is the oldest historic structure along with the "City Hotel." Completely restored in the mid 1990s and conveniently located in the downtown historic district of Breaux Bridge; one block from antique stores, gift shops, restaurants, and cafes. The inn consists of four guestrooms, each with its own private bath, antique furnishings and direct access to the porch overlooking the gardens and bayou. Famous Louisianan designers decorated the guestrooms. Each guestroom has high ceilings and old cypress long leaf pinewood floors, and is decorated with original art. Guests can relax in the glassed-in sun porch, stroll in the lush landscaped gardens or read the daily paper in the rattan rocking chairs in the gazebo. Complimentary beverages and daily maid service are provided with a personal touch. General tour information is available. Upon request, our manager can create a tailored tour to meet your personal needs.Guests receive a complimentary Cajun-style breakfast at the world famous Café des Amis restaurant or Chez Jacqueline. ... more   less
